• Lead, manage, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of engineers dedicated to building merchant centric features, APIs, portals, and systems that optimize merchant operations. • Partner closely with Product Management, other Engineering domains, and our Data Science team to understand merchant needs and translate them into pragmatic technical solutions. • Architect and deliver scalable, high-performance systems that improve merchant onboarding, engagement, and loyalty. • Ensure seamless integration and interoperability across our platforms, enabling merchants to efficiently manage their operations. • Foster a culture of technical excellence through code reviews, best practices, and modern software engineering principles. • Be hands-on with design and architecture decisions while leading by example in technical discussions and implementation reviews.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong proficiency in Golang, and 3+ years leading engineering teams.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and performance.
- Experience designing and operating microservices, with a strong grasp of Event Sourcing.
- Comfortable working in Kubernetes and modern cloud environments (AWS / GCP).
- Experience partnering closely with Product to own a domain end-to-end.
- Hands-on when it matters, guiding design and architecture without micromanaging.
- Strong judgment around trade-offs, balancing innovation with proven approaches.
- Calm, confident, and collaborative, with strong opinions that are loosely held.
- Customer minded, with care for how technical decisions impact real people.

This role requires a "hands-on" leader who spends 70% of their time on team development, testing, and release management, and 30% on code development and technical troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities: - End-to-End SDLC & Process Excellence - SDLC Ownership: Design and optimize the full Software Development Life Cycle, from initial planning and analysis through to production deployment and maintenance. - Testing Rigor: Establish high standards for software quality by mandating a comprehensive testing suite, including JUnit, Integration tests, Load testing, and Automation. - Environment Management: Oversee seamless transitions across Dev, Stage, and Production environments, ensuring platform stability at every stage. - Agile Leadership (ScrumBan) - Workflow Management: Drive the ScrumBan model, blending the structure of Scrum with the flexibility of Kanban to optimize team throughput. - Rituals & Delivery: Lead daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and sprint planning. Role Description As an Engineering Manager you will manage a team of power system engineers performing transmission studies & projects for clients. Responsibilities include client account management, supporting business development, project management, resource forecasting and utilization, and development of direct reports. How you can make an impact: - Perform high level bulk power system studies using various power system software. - Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects while meeting all project quality and budget objectives. - Interact with Clients to seek input and address their needs and concerns with respect to the project(s) study scope of work. - Direct and manage a team of electrical engineers to perform specific power system analyses including steady state, transient stability, short circuit, and/or EMT studies. - Develop and grow the capabilities of engineers within the team and the larger organization. - Perform advanced and specialized studies of the power grid utilizing industry standard analysis platforms such as PSS/e, PSLF, Powerworld, TARA, ASPEN, CAPE, and PSCAD. - Assist in model development efforts including development of generation, load, transmission line and transformer models. - Develop optimal system upgrade and constraint mitigation plans for identified system violations and issues. - Develop and review transmission study methodologies and processes. - Lead process improvement efforts identifying opportunities to enhance organizational efficiencies focused on maximizing team bandwidth while ensuring quality and timeliness of client deliverables. - Support business development activities including development of RFP responses & scope of work statements for clients, outlining EPE deliverables and projected completion dates. Qualifications - Bachelors Degree in Engineering with a focus on Power Systems (advanced degree preferred). - 5+ years in the electric energy industry, with experience in power system studies, design studies. - Experience with PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, TARA, CAPE, Aspen, and/or PSCAD (preferred). - This role will manage/supervise a team of power system engineers ranging from 2 to 10 individuals.
