Backend Engineer, AI Coding

• Build and scale backend services and APIs powering the core product • Design systems that handle real-time processing and high-throughput workloads • Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of the platform • Work on data flows, async processing, and system integrations • Contribute to infrastructure and deployment pipelines • Use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) to accelerate development and iteration • Collaborate closely with engineers and founders on architecture and technical decisions
Job Requirements
- 4+ years of backend engineering experience
- Strong experience building and shipping production systems
- Proficiency in backend development (language-agnostic mindset; Node.js, Python, Go, etc.)
- Experience with APIs, distributed systems, and scalable architectures
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or similar)
- Comfort working in an AI-assisted coding workflow (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, etc.)
- Solid understanding of system design, performance, and reliability
- Ability to work autonomously in a small, fast-moving team
