Role Description The Revenue Cycle Intelligence Analyst is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and optimizing revenue cycle performance across the organization. This position reports to Revenue Cycle operations. This role leverages data to identify trends, root causes of revenue leakage, and opportunities for process improvement across registration, billing, coding, claims, and reimbursement functions. Under general supervision, the Business Intelligence Analyst II is responsible for the delivery of business intelligence solutions to end users to facilitate their making more informed and actionable business decisions. Uses development tools to generate reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions according to business rules and specifications. Splits time between projects and support activities while adhering to MyMichigan Health’s policies, procedures, and business operations. - Demonstrated ability to work independently and/or in a team to train, guide, or assist others to perform complex assignments. - Performs in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and review and test software. - Provides subject matter expertise for two or more application modules/data models. SSRS is preferred. - Knowledge of relational database design and ability to understand relational data models. - Proficiency in data manipulation and extraction techniques. - Experience with Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) technology, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) preferred. - Experience with integrating data from heterogeneous systems (flat files, Excel as well as relational database systems). - Team orientation, project leadership, problem-solving and communication skills required. - Proficient with Microsoft Excel. - Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate at multiple organization levels across the health system as required, including both technical and non-technical staff. - Epic trained and/or certified preferred. - Project management experience. - Working knowledge of data models from EMRs and/or healthcare. - Experience with post-relational DBMSs. - Other programming languages such as C# or VB.NET.
