Role Description This role is open to candidates across the United States, with the primary training facility based in Louisville. Candidates based in Kentucky should anticipate approximately 60% travel across North America. POSITION SUMMARY: The Technical Trainer is responsible for developing technician capability across NFI Group operations and customer networks throughout North America. This role delivers high-quality technical training to internal Service Center Mechanics, Service Technicians, Field Service Technicians, and external customer maintenance teams supporting Motor Coach Industries. Combining instructional expertise with real-world technical knowledge, the successful candidate translates complex vehicle systems into practical learning that improves technician performance, fleet reliability, safety, and customer confidence. Training may be delivered through: - Classroom instruction - Hands-on learning - Shop demonstrations - Field support - Simulated troubleshooting scenarios Qualifications - 3–5+ years of experience working hands-on as a Bus or Coach Technician, Mechanic, Field Service Technician, or similar heavy-duty fleet role, and/or in formal training, instruction, education, or technician development within a technical environment. - Experience supporting transit buses, motor coaches, or commercial fleet equipment is strongly preferred. - Proven ability to teach technical concepts through classroom instruction, practical demonstrations, and hands-on skills development. - Strong knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, HVAC, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, drivetrain, and multiplexing systems. - Ability to build trust and credibility in shop, field, and customer environments through practical expertise and professional presence. - Industry certifications or technical training credentials such as ASE, Red Seal, CDL endorsements, Cummins, Allison Transmission, HVAC / EPA 609, OEM product training, high voltage / EV certifications, or similar are considered assets. - Organized and self-directed with the ability to manage multiple priorities, travel schedules, and a flexible work schedule. Requirements - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly (75 lbs. with assistance). - Perform repetitive movements (bending, kneeling, crouching). - Work on elevated surfaces or in confined spaces. - Must be able to stand and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods (up to 8+ hours). - Requires visual acuity to read diagnostics and inspect components. - Hearing ability to detect vehicle noises and alarms. - Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including noise, dust, fumes, and temperature fluctuations, while wearing PPE (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and relevant HV PPE). - Strong safety awareness and adherence to workplace procedures. Role Description Working from their home office in Idaho, the Special Education Advisory Teacher will "virtually" manage students on an IEP. Through the use of multiple communication and curriculum tools, they will consult regularly with: - Case managers - General education teachers - School counselors - Special education staff - Learning coaches - Parents - Students The Special Education Advisory Teacher will also be responsible for the successful completion of the following tasks: - Track daily attendance, engagement, and participation of assigned homeroom students on an IEP (approximately 150 students). - Monitor grades, progress, and course completion across subject areas. - Identify at-risk students and coordinate interventions with content teachers, counselors, case managers, and administrators. - Serve as the point of contact for families and students regarding school procedures, concerns, and general support. - Communicate regularly with parents/learning coaches of students with special needs to ensure that their IEP goals are being met and that their needs are addressed in a timely and appropriate fashion. - Conduct regular check-ins (phone calls, video meetings, emails, messaging platform) with students and families. - Maintain consistent documentation of outreach, interventions, and student status. - Lead weekly homeroom/advisory sessions. - Work closely with content teachers to ensure alignment on student progress and interventions. - Consult with teachers and coordinate the implementation of specially designed instruction as defined in the IEP regarding students with specific needs and potential learning issues. - Partner with school counselors, special education staff, and administrators to support the whole student. - Participate in professional development, team meetings, and schoolwide initiatives. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in the school's Learning Management System and special education software. - Maintain the organization and proper implementation of all paperwork, documentation, and procedures for the IEP process. - Schedule, organize, and conduct IEP-related meetings in a virtual environment, as needed. - Assist with administering state testing and coordinate the special adaptations that are required based on the IEP. - All other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Degree in Special Education or related Education Field - Applicants must hold a valid Idaho teaching endorsement.
