Junior DevOps Engineer

The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation

• Maintain and improve AWS environments using infrastructure-as-code • Write frontend and backend production code for shared services using Go, Python, JavaScript, and React • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and automate workflows • Support Docker-based deployment platform including build workflows and autoscaling • Implement metrics and alerting for observability and participate in incident response • Build and maintain internal documentation and development tooling • Work with nonprofit partners to support their adoption of AI and data products

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Development Experience: 1-3 years in a DevOps, infrastructure, or full-stack role.
  • Programming: Proficiency in Python or Go preferred.
  • Cloud Experience: Hands-on experience with AWS or similar cloud platform.
  • Pipeline Experience: Experience with CI/CD pipelines using modern tools like GitHub Actions.
  • Infrastructure: Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL. Exposure to Docker and Infrastructure as Code tools.
  • Collaboration: Ability to communicate clearly in a small, fast-moving team.
  • Work Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship).
