Natural Cycles

Natural Cycles° is a leading women’s health company that developed the world’s first birth control app, used by millions globally. We are a fast growing startup, and we promote an international working environment filled with smart and ambitious colleagues based in Stockholm, Geneva, New York, and remotely. Our mission is to pioneer women’s health through research and passion, empowering every woman with the knowledge she needs to take charge of her health. We are seeking a User Researcher to join our User Research team and partner directly with our Product teams. In this role, you'll be a key player in shaping our understanding of user behavior and needs across our various product areas. You will be responsible for leading research efforts to inform product strategy and design, helping us create intuitive, valuable experiences for our users. You'll act as a strategic partner to our product teams, helping them uncover the most impactful questions to ask and ensuring our decisions are grounded in user insights. Please note that we are hiring for this role in Sweden. What you will be doing - Lead the research: Product team research: Lead, plan, and execute end-to-end research studies across our core product teams, including optimizing the app experience for active users, evaluating hardware wearability, and researching features such as in-app messaging to ensure a supportive user journey. - Conduct impactful research: Use a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods, including user interviews, usability testing, surveys, and diary studies, to generate actionable insights. You should be proficient in selecting the right method for the right question. - Partner with the team: Work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and data analysts across different teams to embed user research into the product development lifecycle. You will help them develop hypotheses and validate product ideas. - Communicate findings: Synthesize complex research findings into clear, compelling narratives. You will present your insights to stakeholders throughout the organization, acting as a powerful advocate for the user. - Advocate for user-centered design: Champion user needs and preferences throughout the organization, educating team members on the value of user research. - Hardware & wearables: Partner with our Devices team to evaluate how users interact with our physical hardware. You will lead studies on the end-to-end experience, device setup, and the long-term ergonomics and wearability of our products. What skills and experience we think you have - Experience in user research: Minimum of 4 years of experience as a user researcher in a commercial product setting, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of research projects and methodologies. A plus is if you’ve worked in related fields, e.g., health-related products/services or medical products. - Proficiency in research methods & tools: A deep understanding of user research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative approaches. You should have extensive experience in conducting interviews, usability tests, and surveys, and know when to apply each method. You are comfortable managing research tools such as Maze, and Prolific or UserInterviews for participant recruitment. Experience leveraging analytics platforms (e.g., Mixpanel, Hotjar, or Google Analytics) to triangulate behavioral data with qualitative insights is highly valued. Curiosity about AI in research is a plus. - Collaboration skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence cross-functional teams. - Strategic thinking: A desire to go beyond answering simple questions to uncover deeper user needs and business opportunities. You are a natural problem-solver who can frame research in a way that drives strategic decisions. - Language skills: English on a professional level is key. Fluency in additional languages is a significant plus. - Hardware & medical device experience: If you have experience in usability testing for medical devices (specifically EN 62366 standards), that’s a significant bonus; if not, a strong curiosity and a willingness to learn our regulatory environment are just as important. What we offer - Flexible work arrangement - you will be part of a team based in and around Stockholm that values effective collaboration and transparent communication, irrespective of work location - Professional development - you will work alongside knowledgeable colleagues in the continuous growth and skill enhancement environment - Modern technology - you will leverage innovative technologies and tools, within an environment that empowers you to contribute ideas and take ownership of your work - Impactful projects - you will contribute to groundbreaking projects that redefine industry standards and create tangible value - Commitment to quality - you will join a dynamic and progressive organization that prioritizes profitable, long-term product development Location We are remote-friendly, but we find great value in being able to connect with our teams in person. Most of the User Research team you will work with is located in Stockholm. Not living in Sweden? No problem! We offer relocation support to help you move. Sounds interesting? If you want to be part of a successful team, we encourage you to apply for this position as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you! How to apply To apply, just upload your CV and answer the questions on the application form. Keep in mind that we can't accept applications through email because of GDPR, and only applications submitted via the career site (and in English) will be considered. At Natural Cycles we value diversity and inclusion because we know that teams with people from different backgrounds and experiences are stronger. We welcome candidates from all walks of life and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and candidates.
