Role Description The Solar Project Controller oversees project tracking, financial control, permitting, invoicing, and administrative coordination across Paradigm Solar's rooftop and ground mount projects. This role helps keep projects on budget, on schedule, well documented, and financially reconciled through accurate tracking, disciplined reporting, and strong project coordination. Reporting to the Interim Director - Solar, the Solar Project Controller works closely with the Commercial Manager, Technical Manager, Ground Mount Logistics Coordinator, and Solar Site Superintendent to support clear project visibility, cost control, and well-coordinated delivery. Key Responsibilities - Maintain a master tracker for active solar projects, including permitting, install status, ground mount requirements, and structural assessment needs. - Monitor project progress and flag schedule delays, documentation gaps, and coordination bottlenecks. - Track budgets, purchase orders, actual costs, and forecast updates, and identify variances promptly. - Prepare and issue client invoices based on project milestones, contracts, or completion stages. - Track receivables and support follow-up on outstanding balances. - Support vendor invoice tracking, accounts payable coordination, and reconciliations. - Maintain organized, audit-ready project records including contracts, permits, purchase orders, invoices, and status reports. - Coordinate information flow between design, logistics, installation, and finance teams. - Support manpower planning and crew dispatch coordination in line with project schedules and site readiness. - Work closely with field leadership to ensure timeline, budget, and execution impacts are tracked and communicated. - Provide regular project control updates and escalate budget, schedule, invoicing, or documentation risks promptly. Qualifications - Experience in project controls, project coordination, construction administration, or financial project support within solar, electrical, construction, or related industries. - Strong understanding of project budgeting, cost tracking, purchase orders, invoicing, and reconciliations. - Experience maintaining project trackers, status reports, and audit-ready documentation. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active projects and priorities. - High attention to detail and accuracy in financial and administrative work. - Strong communication and coordination skills across internal teams, vendors, clients, and field stakeholders. - Proficiency with spreadsheets, reporting tools, and project tracking systems. - Experience with permitting or solar project administration is considered an asset. Work Environment - This is a remote role with regular travel to active Paradigm Solar project sites. Candidates must be able and willing to travel to sites as required. - Work includes computer-based administration, virtual meetings, and site visits as required. - Occasional extended hours may be required to support project deadlines or invoicing cycles.
