• Own end-to-end monthly payroll processing for Malaysia and assigned regional markets, validating all payroll inputs including joiners, exits, allowances, incentives, claims, attendance, and deductions. • Manage statutory submissions and compliance (e.g. EPF, SOCSO, EIS, income tax and equivalents), ensuring payroll processes comply with local labour laws and regulatory requirements. • Perform payroll checks, reconciliations, and validations prior to payout, maintaining strong internal controls and audit-ready documentation. • Process salary adjustments, promotions, bonuses, allowances, and ad-hoc payments with full accuracy and confidentiality. • Coordinate and manage payroll vendors, regional payroll partners, and EOR providers—validating outputs, resolving discrepancies, and enforcing SLAs. • Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and documentation for HR, Finance, and management, supporting audits, budgeting, and compensation analysis. • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in payroll workflows and support improvements in SOPs, automation, and HRIS integration.
Job Requirements
- Experience in payroll operations, preferably covering multi-country or regional payroll.
- Strong understanding of Malaysian payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
- Hands-on experience with payroll systems, HRIS tools, and spreadsheets.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong problem-solving ability.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Sitting within our UK and Ireland Support Services team as part of the SAP Professional Services practice, you will provide critical AMS support to our valued payroll customers in the UK and Ireland. Key Responsibilities - Provide application support to payroll customers through advice, guidance, and appropriate technical activities. - Manage incidents, requests and changes from external customers using the ServiceNow tool in a timely and accurate manner, using ITIL principles. - Provide functional analysis and guidance on UKI payroll processing queries. - Act as the lead for the UKI Payroll AMS team, acting as a mentor to junior colleagues, chairing the daily standup call and working alongside the management team to advise on planning and knowledge transfer activities. - Act as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for one or more customers, to provide a key point of contact with in-depth knowledge of their setup and payroll processing cycles. - Ensure client documentation is updated to reflect changes made to their systems. - Manage change requests (typically less than 20 days) from requirements gathering to estimation, unit testing and deployment, to deliver high quality solutions which meet our customers’ business requirements. - Provide updates on status and progress to the SAP Support Lead via daily standup calls to flag blockers and share information with the wider team. - Join customer facing issues calls to provide updates on incidents logged with the team. - Use analytical skills to identify and resolve defects, ensuring the customer is happy with the resolution provided. - Resolve complex defects related to overtime, social security calculation, legal reporting, allowances, sickness, taxes, posting, payslips, RTI and other UK specific payroll areas. - Work according to Strada best practices around change and release management. - Manage the testing and implementation of SAP patches including HRSP and CLC updates. - Support End of Year/Start of Year processes alongside the customer’s payroll team. Requirements - Must have hands on experience of UKI Payroll – Schemas, PCRs, wage type creation, basic pay configuration, etc. - Proven experience working with SAP Payroll systems (SuccessFactors ECP is a plus) providing maintenance, troubleshooting, configuration and support. - Ability to prioritise work across multiple clients to ensure that deadlines are met and contractual SLA targets are achieved. - Strong communication skills to update customers using business rather than technical language. - In depth knowledge of payroll processes, systems, and UKI legislation. - Excellent communication and presentation skills. - Ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail. - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. - Flexibility around working hours if required due to critical payroll issues or escalations. - Systems implementation experience is not mandatory but would be beneficial. - Appetite to become a subject-matter expert on SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) modules. Responsibilities Under minimal direction the “IT Application Analyst - Payroll” will be responsible for the design, build, testing, training and support of the Lawson’s Payroll modules including but not limited to payroll and absence management. The Analyst requires little or no supervision as they build, maintain the system and exercise independent judgment and discretion in carrying out day-to-day support functions. The Analyst performs complex design and analysis tasks related to the hospital business operations. The Analyst will also act as a mentor to other members of the team. Reporting to the IT ERP Manager, this position partners with Payroll Directors at the hospitals and their customers to analyze work process designs, flows, and improvements to leverage the return on technological capabilities. The incumbent will serve as technical point-of-contact for an assigned functional area as well as assist subject matter experts by ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. The Analyst also supports Payroll upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects as assigned. #LI-AS1 #remote Qualifications Required qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience. - Three to five years of Payroll experience required. Understands hospital business operations and structure, general requirements in an integrated delivery system, and use of IT applications in the practicing healthcare environment. - Ability to travel up to 50%. - Strong knowledge of Lawson modules including but not limited to Payroll, Absence Management, ESS, MSS, Crystal Report Writing, and Add-ins. - Proven experience on Payroll processing and strong understanding of pay practices, pay codes, deductions codes, union dues etc. - Experience with Lawson HCM system full cycle implementation a plus, preferably in a healthcare setting. - Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. - Knowledge of Kronos or JBDev time clocking system is required. - Knowledge of developing interfaces with third party vendors is a plus. - Must enjoy working in a fast-paced and challenging environment with many growth opportunities offered through diverse projects. - Experience in integrating Lawson Payroll modules with other Lawson modules like Finance is required. - Must have experience in data conversion techniques and methodologies.
