This role will place you in the Mechanical Systems Team, providing ongoing sustainment support for the existing E-7 fleet. The Wedgetail Sustainment program is a complex, dynamic and rewarding program of work- you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse and highly skilled team that delivers Mechanical Systems in-service support directly to the customer. As a member of the engineering team, you will be responsible to the E-7 Airborne Mission Segment Sustainment Engineering Manager and Mechanical Systems Team Lead for providing Mechanical Systems Technical Services. This role will focus on the development, review and approval and certification of technical artefacts for the Wedgetail. The role is based in Amberley or Williamtown. Responsibilities - Be responsible for technical execution of Continuing Airworthiness Management (Part M) and 21J Design activities for E-7A sustainment Mechanical Systems engineering; including development/review/approval of design artefacts, repairs, technical safety and engineering in accordance with the approved Engineering Management System. - Develop and/or review root-cause analysis on E-7A fleet data to identify/evaluate trends and opportunities to increase dispatch reliability. - Customer interaction with opportunities to interact with stakeholders from the operator, contractors, Defence Regulator and aircraft OEM. - Lead engineering-based projects in support of Minor and Major Mechanical Projects. - Work towards gaining Engineering Authority and Delegations on the E-7 platform. - Provide onsite engineering support to the deeper maintenance activities Experience/Qualifications - Hold a degree qualification either in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechatronics or a related tertiary Engineering degree qualification satisfying the requirements for membership with Engineers Australia (MIEAust). - Minimum of 3 years' experience in aviation engineering focused on Technical Services. - Familiarity with engineering change processes preferred - Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or eligibility to obtain. - Experience working under DASR or equivalent regulatory environment. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Building Services, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. - 3–5+ years of experience in mechanical estimating, with strong preference for data center, mission-critical, or complex commercial construction projects. - Solid technical knowledge of HVAC systems, cooling infrastructure, mechanical codes, and labor productivity rates. - Experience estimating high-density or high-performance cooling systems is highly desirable. - Proficiency in estimating and takeoff tools such as Bluebeam, ProEst, Trimble AutoBid, or similar platforms, with comfort interpreting BIM-based information. - Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. - Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Additional Information *On-site presence and requirements may change depending on our client's needs. The salary range for this role is $100,000K-$140,000 USD. This range reflects the company's good faith estimate of the base salary for this position at the time of the posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity.
