Pharmacy Intern - Express Scripts - Remote (Coverage Review)

As an Intern within Coverage Review Operations, you’ll be responsible for reviewing if coverage can be granted for a medication based on guidelines established by each particular plan. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with Pharmacists, Nurses, and Medical Directors in your department and across the business—and learn from some of our brightest and most innovative colleagues and leaders. Expectations of Intern - Utilizes multiple systems and other clinical resources to research information - Applies patient assessment skills to provide pharmacists and medical directors key information to aid in their reviews - Works and maneuvers within a queue system that prioritizes clinical reviews - Works and collaborates with a multi-disciplinary clinical team to provide a customer centric experience Qualifications - Must be currently enrolled in a PharmD program with a 3.0 GPA - Active intern license in good standing - Currently enrolled in ACPE accredited college of pharmacy - Ideal candidate has an interest in Managed Care, Pharmacy Benefit Processes - Retail pharmacy experience preferred - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel - Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills - Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners - Ability to focus on results, even under tough circumstances and/or a changing environment - Relate openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people across all levels of the organization - Ability to adapt approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations - Self-starter who is eager to learn and acquire new skills Schedule - Available to work 20 hours per week - Opportunities to work up to 40 hours during breaks per business need - This role is work at home (WAH) from a U.S. location If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
