This role is open to candidates based in LATAM, Africa, and Eastern Europe. Please note that as this role supports U.S.-based clients, candidates must be available to work during U.S. business hours aligned with the client’s time zone. Our client is a fast-moving content team focused on creating timely, high-impact media around current events. They specialize in transforming live footage and long-form content into engaging short-form videos designed to perform across major social platforms, with a strong emphasis on relevance, speed, and audience engagement. Location Fully remote | 9 AM - 5 PM EST Role Overview The Short-Form Video Editor will be responsible for transforming live event footage and long-form content into engaging, high-performing short-form videos for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. This role requires a strong understanding of current U.S. news and trends, combined with the ability to identify compelling moments and execute fast-paced, high-quality edits optimized for reach, engagement, and virality. Key Responsibilities Short-Form Video Editing - Edit live event footage into engaging short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts - Use fast-paced editing techniques (hooks, captions, jump cuts) to maximize retention and engagement - Optimize videos for performance across social platforms - Identify and extract compelling moments from long-form content (podcasts, interviews, live events) and turn them into engaging short-form clips News & Trend Awareness - Stay up to date with U.S. news and current events - Identify timely moments and topics that can be turned into engaging content - Ensure content is relevant, timely, and aligned with ongoing conversations Collaboration - Work closely with another editor and the content team - Take feedback quickly and iterate efficiently - Contribute to a fast-paced, high-output content workflow AI Tools (Nice to Have) - Use AI tools to assist with clip generation, captions, or optimization Qualifications Experience - 2+ years of video editing experience, with a strong focus on short-form content - Proven experience editing short-form content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and/or YouTube Shorts - Experience editing news, media, or commentary-style content (nice to have) Skills - Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects is a plus) - Strong understanding of what makes short-form content engaging and high-performing - Ability to work quickly and handle a high volume of edits - Ability to deliver edits with quick turnaround times in a fast-paced, high-volume environment - Creative eye for pacing, storytelling, and hooks - Ability to take minimal direction and deliver strong output - Familiarity with AI editing tools (nice to have) What Success Looks Like - Consistent delivery of engaging, high-quality short-form videos - Strong performance metrics (watch time, engagement, shares) - Fast turnaround with minimal revisions - Ability to turn news moments into compelling content quickly Opportunity This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced team producing high-impact content tied to current events.
