GENERAL FUNCTION Member of a specialized treasury team serving the Technology, Life Sciences, and Equity Fund Services verticals. Operates at the intersection of imagination, capital, and growth, delivering strategic treasury solutions to venture-backed companies and private capital firms. Drives revenue through proactive sourcing within investor, founder, and sponsor networks while partnering across the bank to win, scale, and retain complex client relationships. Acts as a key connector between the bank and the innovation ecosystem, positioning treasury as a critical enabler of growth and liquidity strategy. Serves as a strategic treasury advisor within the TLS and EFS verticals, supporting high-growth companies and private capital firms through all stages of their lifecycle, from early-stage funding to scale and exit. This role is differentiated by its focus on ecosystem-driven business development, event-based opportunity capture, and delivering scalable treasury infrastructure in fast-paced, capital-intensive environments. This role represents a differentiated capability within the bank, focused on capturing growth within the innovation economy. The TLS and EFS treasury team brings established investor networks, specialized industry expertise, and a proven ability to win and scale high-value relationships, positioning the bank to compete more effectively in a segment that requires speed, credibility, and precision. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ecosystem-Driven Business Development - Originate new business through venture capital, private equity, and founder networks rather than traditional prospecting channels - Partner with Relationship Managers and sponsors to win clients at formation, funding, and expansion stages - Maintain visibility and credibility within the innovation ecosystem to create a sustainable pipeline of opportunities Event-Based Revenue Capture - Identify and act on key inflection points such as capital raises, liquidity events, fund launches, and M&A activity - Translate these events into treasury opportunities including liquidity management, payments, and card solutions - Move with speed and precision to capture wallet share during critical client moments Strategic Treasury Advisory - Advise clients on runway management, liquidity optimization, and scalable treasury design - Support complex needs including capital call and distribution flows, multi-entity structures, and global expansion - Align treasury solutions to unique business models including SaaS, life sciences R&D cycles, and fund operations Growth & Revenue Expansion - Drive adoption of payments, commercial card, and fraud solutions in high-growth, high-velocity environments - Position treasury as a strategic lever tied directly to client growth, efficiency, and risk mitigation - Continuously identify opportunities to deepen relationships as clients scale Cross-Functional Leadership - Lead coordination across Product, Credit, Risk, and Implementation to deliver seamless execution - Influence internal partners to operate with urgency and flexibility aligned to client pace - Serve as a subject matter expert for TLS and EFS within the broader organization Risk Discipline in High-Growth Environments - Balance growth and speed with strong risk awareness in rapidly scaling client environments - Proactively identify risks tied to funding volatility, operational maturity, and transaction complexity - Uphold all policies and governance standards while enabling responsible growth MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE &, SKILLS REQUIRED - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business (e.g. Business Administration, Finance, Accounting) or equivalent work experience preferred. - CTP certification is strongly encouraged. - Minimum of 4 years Commercial Banking /Treasury Management experience, preferably at least 3 years in a sales role. - Demonstrated record of consistently exceeding performance goals. - Possess a strong desire to constantly strive to improve oneself. - Must have strong client interaction skills and has demonstrated the ability to influence the outcome of a sales process. - Requires the aptitude for powerful presentations and negotiation skills with internal and external clients. - Demonstrated ability to articulate the benefits of strong working capital management solutions to clients. - Proven product and sales knowledge sufficient to help mentor new team members. - Demonstrated knowledge of a wide array of treasury management products. - Excellent oral and written skills. - Basic proficiency in PC software (MS Office). - Technical Treasury Management competencies: - Understanding of Treasury Management, Payment and products and solutions. - Ability to build new & existing client relationships. - Ability to evaluate client needs. - Basic understanding of financial statement analysis. - Ability to provide strategic treasury advisory services. - Understanding of investment management techniques. #LI-TY1 Tech and Life Sciences Treasury Management Officer II Total Base Pay Range 71,100.00 - 145,900.00 USD Annual At Fifth Third, we understand the importance of recognizing our employees for the role they play in improving the lives of our customers, communities and each other.
