Physician Coder Specialist – General/Trauma Surgery

Ochsner Health

• Reviewing and accurately coding professional services • Assigning ICD-10, CPT and/or HCPCS codes • Ensuring data integrity of coded patient records • Researching patient accounts for questions/errors • Complying with department productivity and accuracy standards • Communicating with providers for documentation clarification

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of coding experience
  • Recognized Certification by the AHIMA or AAPC
  • Computer skills and dexterity for data entry
  • Proficient with Windows-style applications
  • Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and coding principles
  • Excellent decision making, problem solving and analytical skills
