The adjuster will determine and provide recommendations with respect to coverage, liability and quantum, within the terms of the policy. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES - Manages/adjusts assigned claims while meeting company standards and quality, including conducting thorough investigations; determining coverage and validity of claims, interviewing and communicating with insured, claimants and witnesses;, assigning external vendors as required, recommendations for reserves, preparing reports and negotiating settlements within granted authority. - Maintains accurate records based on company standards and procedures, using company custom computer systems. Will require the ability to work in external client systems. - Accurately and efficiently manages the billing for assigned files, within specified timelines - Maintains an excellent working relationship with existing clients to further develop business and will participate as required in client file reviews and audits. - Requires a high level of mathematical and reasoning ability to calculate and analyze data to arrive at a logical conclusion - . - Committed to continuous education to keep up-to-date with all industry and legislative issues and changes and licensing requirements. - Responsible for ensuring reserves, coding and reporting are up to date on claims files assigned. - Positively impact customer experience by focusing on achieving positive Net Promoter Score - Identifies the need and co-ordination of task assignments utilizing field adjusters - Reviews and interprets policy wording to confirm and apply coverage of losses ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES - Performs other duties as assigned. - Supports the organization's quality program(s). Role Description SMX is seeking a Senior Compensation Specialist to design, implement, and manage competitive compensation programs that attract, retain, and motivate top talent. This role partners closely with HR, Finance, Talent, and business stakeholders to ensure pay practices align with organizational strategy, market competitiveness, and regulatory compliance. Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Compensation Strategy & Program Design - Lead the design, evaluation, and administration of base pay, incentive, and bonus programs. - Conduct job evaluations and maintain job architecture frameworks. - Develop salary structures, pay grades, and market pricing methodologies. - Support executive and sales compensation planning as needed. - Lead annual company merit review cycle. - Market Analysis & Benchmarking - Conduct comprehensive market analyses using reputable salary survey data. - Provide recommendations based on competitive market trends and internal equity analysis. - Monitor compensation trends, regulatory updates, and emerging best practices. - Data Analytics & Reporting - Analyze compensation data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. - Maintain the Compensation Module in ADP. - Model compensation scenarios and financial impacts in partnership with Finance. - Compliance & Governance - Ensure compensation programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations. - Support audits and maintain documentation of compensation decisions. - Partner with HR on pay equity analysis and corrective actions if needed. - Assess jobs and their respective duties to determine classification such as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range. - Stakeholder Collaboration - Advise HR, Talent, and Executive Leadership on compensation decisions including offers, promotions, and adjustments. - Provide guidance on pay transparency and communication strategies. - Train managers on compensation processes and job architecture frameworks.
