Job Description: We are seeking a highly collaborative Software Engineering Manager to guide a team of engineers that are focused on our best-in-class Property & Casualty Insurance and Restoration Platform. This person should have a natural ability to creatively solve customer pain points by building innovative solutions. Job Responsibilities: - Be the technology leader for a development team responsible for delivering SaaS products - Collaborate with Management, Technology, Product, UX, and other internal teams to provide a stable, innovative, and valuable product, including remote and distributed teams - Own the product development lifecycle including development, automation, QA, CI, DevOps and production operations. - Manage, coach and hire a highly talented engineering team, including setting goals for direct reports that are aligned to company goals - Be responsible and accountable for the product vision and product roadmap assigned to your team - Plan, design, and lead the team to deliver complex, broad-scale systems. - Develop and report performance metrics for your team and coach them for success. - Define, implement and improve quality engineering practices - Collaborate with other teams to execute your roadmap and achieve great results - Always think long term and balance long term interests with short term success. - Keep an eye on industry standards and best practices. - Never stop learning and always question the status quo. Job Qualifications: - A background in computer science fundamentals: a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or Engineering or have equivalent professional experience. - Extensive and progressive experience building and delivering scalable and resilient software products. - Several years of managing teams building scalable production software and managing software development teams - Demonstrated experience and mastery of relevant software design patterns, frameworks, and styles. - Experience with RESTful / GraphQL Web Service Design and Implementation; Event Driven Systems; Asynchronous Messaging (Enterprise Service Bus) and Service Oriented Architectures - The ideal candidate will be able to operate in a fast-paced environment, directing their team to build code that is simple, understandable, clean, and solid. - They will be able to foster and maintain strong relationships with their team and see feedback or failure as motivation to continue learning and growing. Data-driven decision making is the norm for this person.
