Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Principal DevOps Engineer to lead the design, governance, and evolution of enterprise cloud architecture within a federal environment. This role focuses on architectural leadership, strategic planning, and technical oversight rather than hands-on engineering execution. The Azure Cloud Architect will define cloud architecture standards, guide DevOps and engineering teams, and ensure Azure environments are designed for scalability, resilience, security, and compliance. The architect will collaborate closely with engineering teams, program leadership, and government stakeholders to ensure cloud solutions align with mission objectives and federal security requirements. Location: United States (Remote; DMV region preferred) Clearance Requirement: U.S. Citizenship required; must currently hold or have previously held a Public Trust designation. Key Responsibilities Cloud Architecture & Strategy - Design and oversee highly available, secure, and scalable Azure architectures across compute, storage, networking, and identity services. - Define enterprise Azure reference architectures, patterns, and best practices for development teams. - Establish architectural guidance for Azure identity, governance, policy enforcement, and monitoring frameworks. - Evaluate and guide the adoption of cloud-native Azure services and modernization strategies. Cloud Migration & Modernization - Lead architecture planning for migration of on-premises workloads to Azure. - Evaluate workloads and recommend cloud-native transformations leveraging services such as: - Azure Virtual Machines - Azure App Service - Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) - Azure Key Vault - Azure Active Directory - Develop strategies for hybrid connectivity and networking architectures. Compensation and Benefits Pluribus Digital offers a competitive salary that is determined at the time of offer. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications, with salary ranges aligned accordingly. If a candidate is a strong fit at a more junior or senior level to what is outlined here, we will assess them accordingly and apply the appropriate salary range during the hiring process. The range for this specific role is from $170,000 - $190,000 depending on experience.
