Job Title: Investigator Type of Position: Full Time Location: Fully Remote - United States: Must be able to work PST hours. Pay: $28.00 - $50.00 / hour Job Description: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned: - Facilitating investigative work to identify multiple avenues for recovery and be creative with determining various theories of liability - Work with experts in building support for creative theories of liability - Identify, hire, and brief appropriate technical experts; provide the necessary data and evidence for their specialized case analysis - Work closely with attorneys to identify “knowledge gaps” in a case - Ensure all evidence is obtained and analyzed prior to spoliation - Conduct comprehensive field investigations, including incident site visits, evidence collection, photography, and securing surveillance footage - Manage and review all collected evidence to ensure it aligns with the overarching case strategy - Identify and interview witnesses to gather critical testimony regarding the incident - Supervise outside investigators for recorded statements or highly specialized investigative tasks. - Act as a point of contact for insurance adjusters to facilitate communication and information exchange Requirements: - Minimum of 3–5 years in personal injury law required, preferably focusing on investigative work and catastrophic injury (TBI, spinal cord, wrongful death) - J.D. or California Private Investigator (PI) license preferred - Insurance adjuster background preferred What We Offer: - Flexible Schedule - Medical, Dental, Vision and Pet Insurance - 401(k) with Company Match - Company-paid Life Insurance and AD&D Coverage, Voluntary Life Insurance - Short-term and Long-term Disability - Employee Assistance and Travel Assistance Programs - Paid Time Off, Paid Sick Time, Paid Holidays - Health FSA and Dependent Care FSA - Accident Insurance - Commuter Transportation Incentive - Cell Phone and Internet Stipend - Fully-paid parking - Learning and Development Programs - Voluntary Critical Illness Insurance - Remote Positions About J&M: Jacoby & Meyers was founded in 1972 with the intention of making the legal system more accessible to the average person.
