Senior Data Engineer – Azure

Rox Partner

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory. • Develop data processing solutions with Azure Databricks, PySpark, and Spark SQL. • Structure and manage Data Lakes in Azure Blob Storage, applying layered architecture (raw, curated, trusted). • Model, optimize, and administer data in Azure SQL Database. • Develop and maintain analytical data models for consumption in Power BI. • Create and optimize datasets, semantic models, and DAX measures in Power BI. • Implement code versioning and CI/CD practices for pipelines and analytical artifacts. • Ensure data quality, reliability, and traceability (data quality, data lineage, and monitoring). • Collaborate with business, BI, and analytics teams to gather and translate technical requirements. • Support data architecture decisions, cost optimization (FinOps), and best practices in Azure. • Provide technical guidance to junior professionals.

Job Requirements

  • Azure Data Factory with hands-on experience in orchestrating data pipelines, integrating multiple sources, parameterization, error handling, and monitoring.
  • Azure Databricks with development of distributed processing solutions using PySpark and Spark SQL, notebook usage, job creation, and performance optimization.
  • Azure Blob Storage / Azure Data Lake with structuring and organizing Data Lakes, applying layered architecture (raw, curated, trusted), access control, security, and governance.
  • Azure SQL Database with relational modeling, advanced T-SQL development, index creation, query tuning, and performance optimization.
  • Power BI with development of dimensional models, creation of advanced DAX measures, performance optimization, and publishing and managing datasets.
  • Analytical Data Modeling with strong knowledge of Star Schema, Snowflake, and BI/analytics-oriented modeling concepts.
  • Advanced SQL with writing complex queries, use of CTEs, window functions, and execution plan analysis.
  • Python for data engineering with development of scripts for ingestion, transformation, and process automation.
  • Version control with Git using repositories, branches, and pull requests.
  • CI/CD (Azure DevOps or similar)
  • Data Lakehouse architecture (desirable)
  • Data governance, information security, and LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law)
