Job Description
DevOps Engineer – Specialist
TIMOCOM
• As a DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) on the DevEx team, your goal is to make the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) as intuitive and efficient as possible for our developers. • You act as the enabler who removes friction from the software delivery process. • You develop features of our IDP that enable teams to quickly and independently bring applications to the cloud. • Depending on where you live, you either work together with your team at our headquarters in Erkrath twice a week or you have the option to work up to 100% remotely. • You design and implement self-service capabilities within our Internal Developer Platform as well as high-performance CI/CD pipelines in GitLab. • You also establish modern deployment workflows using ArgoCD. • You support teams in taking full responsibility for their services — from the initial code commit to stable operation in the cluster. • As a mentor, you actively coach development teams and convey best practices in cloud-native development and deployment strategies. • In addition, you automate application delivery with Helm. • You act as a service-oriented bridge between development and operations and continuously improve the tools used across the developer journey.
Job Requirements
- You bring several years of professional experience in software development or the DevOps field with a strong focus on automation.
- You are proficient with GitLab CI, Helm, Kubernetes, ArgoCD and Terraform / OpenTofu.
- You demonstrate a high level of service orientation and strong mentoring skills to effectively transfer knowledge into teams.
- You have a passion for simplifying processes and creating self-service infrastructures.
- Ideally, you have an interest in databases and want to further develop your skills in this area.
- To communicate well within your team, you have very good German skills (C1 or above) and good English skills (B2 or above).
Benefits
- Your working hours and location are as flexible as you are: you can use our modern Multispaces and work on-site, mobile or remotely.
- Through hybrid collaboration we promote direct exchange.
- With us you can work from abroad for up to 120 calendar days per year as part of a workation — so you can extend your vacation or visit family and friends overseas.
- On our internal learning platform you can choose from over 20,000 courses and offers.
- Thanks to development plans with concrete content, you can easily plan your further training.
- Your health is important to us: that's why we offer health activities and after-work events, such as an individual stress check, back courses or a running group.
- We think in an environmentally friendly way: you can lease an e-bike or bicycle. Alternatively, we are happy to support you with a discounted job ticket or a travel allowance.
- We take care of your children: we offer daycare places in Erkrath and parent-child offices in our head office.
- Working with us means cooperation and collaboration on equal terms — we are team players because we know what we can achieve together.
- Recommend a candidate and claim a €1,000 referral bonus. If the job isn't the perfect fit for you but you know someone who is, we gladly reward your recommendation.
