• Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that power onboarding, growth, and core developer experiences within LaunchDarkly. • Contribute to technical solutions that improve time to value, usability, and early retention for new developers adopting the platform. • Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to define and implement end-to-end features that support experimentation, iteration, and learning. • Participate in architecture and design discussions, offering thoughtful input and collaborating with senior engineers. • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and other LaunchDarkly teams to understand developer needs and improve foundational workflows across the product. • Follow and promote best practices for backend development, testing, and observability. • Take ownership of code in production and help improve the reliability, scalability, and clarity of the systems over time.

• Work with engineers & technical leaders across the company to ship products on strong foundations. • Build high quality end-to-end product experiences for platforms. • Improve engineering standards, tooling and processes. • Develop and lead the team to execute against both short-term and long-term roadmaps. • Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation. • Identify, scope, and lead large technical projects, laying the groundwork for early-stage products to iteratively evolve and scale, and taming complexity and shoring up reliability of existing systems.

• Design, build, and maintain data-intensive, high-performance backend services based on an event-driven architecture. • Develop and maintain APIs and services that power both real-time monitoring features and complex maintenance workflows. • Work closely with a cross-functional team to ensure our backend applications align with the overall product vision and user experience goals. • Optimize applications and data processing workflows for performance, focusing on enhancing speed, efficiency, and reliability across various operating environments. • Continuously evolve our systems through refactoring, introducing best practices, and improving maintainability and observability. • Document architectural decisions and technical implementations clearly for the team and future maintainers.

• Work directly with the founding team on developing: the company Python SDK, first-party packages and plugins and bridges to third-party tools etc.
