Senior Data Scientist
OMEGA POINT (OMPNT)
• We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to lead the design and development of advanced statistical and machine learning systems. • You will work across high impact domains including retention, personalisation, attribution, forecasting, classification and experimentation. • You build solutions that start lean and exploratory, then evolve into robust, trustworthy, scalable data pipelines once value is proven. • You will join a strong Data Intelligence team while partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Commercial and other functions. • You focus on the highest priorities, assess feasibility pragmatically, and guide stakeholders toward solutions that deliver measurable impact. • You will also mentor Data Scientists and Data Analysts in the practical application of statistical techniques.
Job Requirements
- Proficient with data querying languages (SQL), scripting languages (Python)
- 5+ years of data science experience
- 2+ years of a/b testing and data visualisation experience
- Experience of successful deployment of AI solutions into Production environments with appropriate governance controls
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Required experience with statistical models (regression) and ML models (retrieval, ranking, reinforcement)
- Required experience designing evaluation approaches for AI solutions, ML and LLMs (Agents desirable)
- Desired understanding of personalisation algorithms
- Desired experience in large scale distribution systems (Spark, Elasticsearch) and managing DS pipelines
- Desired Master or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or related field
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
