Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced Data Governance Manager to join our Strategy & Advisory consulting team and lead a strategic client engagement focused on designing and implementing an enterprise-wide Data Governance Strategy. This is a client-facing consulting role requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You will be responsible for defining the governance vision, operating model, and implementation roadmap, ensuring data is trusted, well-managed, compliant, and aligned with business objectives. The engagement will require close collaboration with senior business and technology stakeholders to establish ownership structures, governance processes, and a scalable framework that supports regulatory compliance, data quality, and long-term data excellence. What You’ll Do Data Governance Strategy Development - Lead the design of an enterprise Data Governance Strategy aligned with business priorities - Define governance vision, principles, and target state - Develop a phased implementation roadmap with clear milestones and value outcomes - Assess current governance maturity and identify capability gaps Operating Model & Ownership Framework - Design and formalize data ownership and stewardship structures - Define roles, responsibilities, and accountability models (RACI) - Establish governance committees, decision forums, and escalation paths - Create a federated governance operating model aligned with business and IT Policies, Standards & Data Quality - Define enterprise data governance policies, standards, and procedures - Design the Data Quality (DQ) operating model, including controls, KPIs, and monitoring mechanisms - Establish metadata management and data lifecycle governance principles - Translate regulatory and compliance requirements into practical governance controls Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management - Facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders to align on governance priorities - Drive executive buy-in and consensus around governance decisions - Prepare board-level materials and strategic presentations - Support organizational change and capability enablement What We’re Looking For - Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise Data Governance frameworks - Experience delivering Data Governance Strategy projects in a consulting or transformation environment - Strong understanding of Data Management disciplines (Data Quality, Metadata, Data Ownership, Data Lifecycle) - Ability to translate strategic objectives into practical, scalable governance solutions - Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence senior leadership - Experience working in complex, cross-functional environments - Knowledge of DMBOK framework; CDMP certification is a plus - Experience with governance enablement tools (e.g., SAP MDG, Collibra, Solidatus, Azure Purview, data catalogs, DQ tools) We offer a flexible collaboration model based on a B2B contract, with the opportunity to work on diverse projects.
