• Own and expand backend implementation and architecture of our visualization tooling suite (e.g., data mining quality assurance, operations and log ingestion, annotation pipelines, telemetry viewers). • Collaborate closely with ML, frontend, UX, data services, data mining, and data annotation teams to align tooling with real-world workflows • Support scalable, performance APIs and services for visual development, debugging, and annotation systems. • Help mature internal standards, observability, and deployment processes for our backend stack • Maintain and mature the team’s CI/CD infrastructure and process.

• Lead and provide mentorship to a team of engineers both technically and professionally • Manage and drive team timelines, project commitments, and roadmap deliverables • Ability to take a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for mentoring engineers • Work closely with users, leadership, and stakeholders to align and coordinate product design, project execution, and operational usage in setting and achieving objectives and key results. • Build scalable backend services for data discovery and data lineage systems. • Write high quality, maintainable code to process petabytes of data • Design, build, and maintain scalable data processing and access with cloud ETL technology.

• Define and execute motion planning and prediction projects that improve our self-driving vehicles’ capability to safely, comfortably and legally navigate complex traffic scenarios • Lead, manage and grow a team of engineers • Design and lead the implementation of behavior models that leverage the latest advancements in machine learning, generative AI and reinforcement learning • Productionize and deploy solutions onto autonomous vehicle fleets • Collaborate with perception, simulation, data platform and integration teams to validate and enhance your products’ on-road performance • Communicate strategies, progress and challenges to executive leadership

• Develop technical standards, including hands-on software coding, tools, and platforms • Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers • Define all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards • Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, maintainability, extensibility, scalability, etc. • Drive continuous innovation and improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies • Adhere to schedules and deadlines.
