• Execute integrated mechanical design and analysis activities, ensuring alignment across functional and performance requirements, physical architecture and packaging constraints, and manufacturability, reliability, and lifecycle considerations • Develop and mature concepts, layouts, and detailed designs for mechanical systems and components, including rotating machinery, actuation systems, mechanical control elements, electro-mechanical assemblies, and electronics packaging, with exposure to maritime and undersea systems as applicable • Perform and support multi-disciplinary analysis (structural, thermal, vibration, fluid, and system-level modeling), including generating loads, defining boundary conditions, building models, and correlating analytical results with test data and field performance • Translate system requirements into physical architectures and executable design solutions, including space claim definition, system layout, interface definition, and cross-domain integration across mechanical and electrical systems, supported by early-stage trade studies and concept evaluations • Support early-phase engineering efforts through concept definition, feasibility assessments, development of preliminary models and layouts, and providing engineering inputs to scope, cost, and schedule planning • Develop and maintain complete technical data packages, including 3D models, drawings, specifications, and analysis artifacts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and configuration control • Define and execute development, qualification, and acceptance testing, ensuring alignment with system requirements and validation of analytical predictions • Implement design changes across the product lifecycle while maintaining configuration control, traceability, and alignment with program objectives • Support supplier engagement through technical coordination, component qualification, and resolution of design, manufacturing, or performance-related issues • Participate in or lead root cause and corrective action investigations (RRCCA), integrating insights from design, analysis, manufacturing, and field data to drive resolution and continuous improvement

• Design and configure SAP IBP characteristics-based planning models to support complex, multi-dimensional planning across product hierarchies, device categories, manufacturing plants, and distribution centers • Ensure deployment planning complies with enterprise supply chain policies, regulatory requirements, and product allocation guidelines • Translate complex business rules and operational constraints into scalable IBP planning configurations and optimizer parameters • Implement fair-share logic and inventory optimization strategies to manage shortages and balance network inventory • Support multi-echelon inventory optimization (MEIO) and network design initiatives • Drive system design analysis, testing, and training • Manage end-to-end system lifecycle activities including design, configuration, testing, deployment, user training, and system upgrades • Ensure accurate integration and monitoring of master and transactional data from SAP S/4HANA, including transportation lanes and sourcing rules • Conduct scenario simulations and what-if analyses to evaluate capacity constraints and improve distribution strategies • Provide ongoing application support and troubleshooting across SAP IBP and SAP S/4HANA environments

Agile Space Industries is seeking an experienced Staff Systems Engineer who will provide system-level thinking on spacecraft propulsion system architecture decisions and evaluation of system requirement compliance. The ideal candidate for this role will have deep propulsion systems technical experience to execute system engineering practices on hardware development programs and provide guidance to internal teams on system requirement flow downs, to make informed architecture trade studies, and lead verification and validation process. Critical skillsets being sought after include leadership in system architecture development, requirement decomposition and management along with risk and opportunity management for hardware development. Responsibilities - Lead trade studies and analyzes for system level architecture decisions. - Lead architecture development based on customer requirements and internal stakeholder requirements. - Establish traceability of system requirements and flow downs. - Lead the verification & validation process and stake holder definition. - Manage and execute gated product development reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc). - Independently analyze elements of a system and recommend alternatives as needed. - Interact and facilitate communication between external customers, internal stakeholders, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary functional teams. Requirements - B.S. or advanced degree in related engineering or technical field. Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. - 12+ Years of experience in System Engineering in space propulsion development. - Strong understanding of storable propellants, fluid dynamics, and safety considerations. - Demonstrated leadership experience in decomposition of system requirements to relevant components. - Experience leading verification and validation planning through product development lifecycles. - Experienced leading product development for space flight hardware. - Experienced in JAMA or similar requirement management tools. Preferred Qualifications - Experience developing space flight hardware with a comprehensive understanding of space design best practices. - Familiarity with NASA or other relevant industry standards. - Familiarity with Range Safety requirements, such as AFSPCMAN 91-710. - Experience with leading teams and working with Government customers. - Experience with Propulsion Systems Engineering is desired. - Clear and concise presentation skills. - Demonstrated experience with risk and opportunity management activities and strategies Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer The expected salary range for this role is $123,000-$186,000 annually. Final compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity, and is typically made within the midrange, rather than the upper end.
