Job Title: Video Editor Position Type: Full-Time, Remote Working Hours: U.S. client business hours (with flexibility for deadlines, campaign launches, and revisions) About the Role: Our client is seeking a Video Editor to create polished, engaging, and high-performing video content for marketing, training, and communications. This role involves managing the editing workflow from raw footage through final delivery, ensuring all projects are on-brand, technically precise, and optimized for the target platforms (web, social, events, or broadcast). The Video Editor combines storytelling creativity with technical editing expertise to deliver content that drives results. Responsibilities: - Footage Management: - Import, organize, and catalog raw footage from multiple sources. - Maintain orderly project files and version control for easy retrieval. - Editing & Assembly: - Edit raw footage into coherent, compelling narratives using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve. - Sync audio and video, refine pacing, and ensure smooth transitions. - Apply cuts and sequences that align with brand tone and campaign objectives. - Graphics & Effects: - Add titles, lower thirds, motion graphics, and animations (Adobe After Effects, Motion, or Canva). - Incorporate logos, callouts, and brand visuals consistently. - Audio & Color Correction: - Mix and master audio (dialogue clarity, noise reduction, levels). - Add background music and sound effects in line with licensing requirements. - Perform color correction and grading to achieve consistent look and feel. - Multi-Platform Versioning: - Export deliverables in multiple aspect ratios and formats for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and website embeds. - Optimize file sizes, codecs, and compression for quality and performance. - Collaboration & Feedback: - Work with creative directors, marketing teams, and stakeholders to align edits with campaign goals. - Manage review cycles using Frame.io or similar feedback platforms. - Performance Monitoring & Archiving: - Monitor video analytics to inform future edits. - Archive projects in cloud storage with metadata for reuse and compliance. What Makes You a Perfect Fit: - Creative eye paired with technical precision. - Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines. - Comfortable editing across styles: short-form social, corporate explainers, long-form training. - Collaborative and open to feedback cycles. Required Experience & Skills (Minimum): - 2+ years professional video editing experience. - Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve. - Strong knowledge of audio syncing, noise reduction, and color correction. - Familiarity with exporting for social and web platforms. Ideal Experience & Skills: - Motion graphics and animation in Adobe After Effects. - Experience editing videos for paid campaigns or brand storytelling. - Understanding of marketing KPIs (CTR, engagement, view duration). - Industry exposure in SaaS, agencies, e-commerce, or media. What Does a Typical Day Look Like? A Video Editor’s day is focused on transforming raw footage into finished, impactful content. You will: - Organize and prep footage so editing workflows are clean and efficient. - Edit and assemble videos, refining pacing, storytelling, and transitions. - Add graphics, music, and sound, ensuring alignment with brand and licensing standards. - Perform color correction for consistency across deliverables. - Export multiple versions optimized for different platforms. - Collaborate with stakeholders, managing review rounds and incorporating feedback. - Archive and track projects so files are accessible and reusable in the future. As the Junior Video Producer, you will be a part of the Video Team working to develop storytelling content and coordinating production for video shoots. You are a talented video creator with a strong sense of story and know how to translate the K12 brand into compelling video assets. You will work with the Head of Video to set the creative vision for video productions and with the Senior Producer to execute video shoots. Strong post-production skills are essential as you will be tasked with video editing but success in this role looks like presenting strong creative concepts and effective on-set direction.
