Job Description
Intern, Software Development Engineer
Allstate Northern Ireland
• Write clear, maintainable and well-tested code in Python, Golang to implement features, fix bugs and improve application performance • Participate in design and code reviews, contributing ideas on system architecture, and helping to identify and resolve technical issues. • Work within an Agile/Scrum team structure, attending daily stand-ups and sprint planning meetings. • Develop and execute unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure the quality and reliability of the software • Create and maintain technical documentation for new features, APIs, and overall system design. • Actively research new technologies, frameworks, and best practices to propose innovative solutions.
Job Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, graduating in 2026 or 2027
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design principles
- Proficiency in Java, Python or GoLang; familiarity with both is a plus
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Understanding of database technologies and SQL
- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
