Senior Software Engineer

• Design, develop and maintain backend components using Java and Python • Work on Spring / Spring Boot based services and knowledge of Webservices (REST / SOAP) • Debug complex production issues and perform root cause analysis • Troubleshoot performance and support high priority production issues • Work with QA team for testing, verification and defect closure • Work with Support team to analyze live customer/production issues and drive resolution • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and deliver tasks in sprint cycles
Job Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of experience in software development
- Very strong in Core Java
- Multithreading implementation and debugging
- Hands-on experience developing and debugging complex issues in multi-node / distributed deployments
- Strong understanding of concurrency issues, thread dumps, deadlocks, etc.
- Hands-on experience in Python
- Strong hands-on experience working on Linux environment
- Working knowledge of Linux scripting (Shell scripts / Bash)
- Strong experience with: Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Logback (logging)
- Hands-on experience writing Unit and Integration Tests
- Knowledge of JUnit and Mockito (or similar Java testing frameworks)
- Very strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with CI/CD and source control tools: Bamboo, Bitbucket
- Database knowledge: Any Database, Cassandra (preferred)
- Hands-on experience working in Agile development model and Sprint-based execution (Scrum)
- Ability to work with multiple teams like QA and Support

We are looking for a Corporate Combustion Engineer to join the Kaiser Aluminum team! The Corporate Combustion Engineer is responsible for developing and executing Best in Class process and programs related to the safe maintenance and operations of combustion equipment at the Kaiser Aluminum facilities. Additionally, they provide technical expertise and advisory support for facility engineering and maintenance staff as required. This position will report to the Sr. Director of Engineering and Maintenance. This position is remote and will be located in one of the following states: Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, California or Washington. What you will work on: Lead the Company Combustion Committee. Act as the Company Subject Matter Expert (SME) for combustion equipment and processes. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for the safe operation of applicable combustion systems. Support regulatory compliance with air emission requirements. Preferred Qualifications What you will bring to the role: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate technical field. Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) and/or Certification as a Reliability Engineer (CRE) p referred but not required. A minimum of 10 years’ experience in combustion related engineering and maintenance. Demonstrated working knowledge of appropriate standards (NFPA 86, 54, etc.). Six Sigma expertise/certification preferred. Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time. Ability to perform approximately 50% of the job function in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions and 50% of the job function in an industrial plant environment where there is exposure to operating machinery and a manufacturing environment.
