Senior Full-Stack Engineer – TypeScript / PHP
Vitamin Software
• Build critical healthcare integrations and solve problems most teams avoid. • Integrate a modern SaaS product into Pharmacy Management Systems across the US. • Design and build integration architecture from scratch. • Work closely with client-side engineers to align on APIs, constraints, and system behavior. • Build backend services using TypeScript (Node.js ecosystem) and maintain/extenuate parts of the system in PHP. • Make unreliable, third-party systems behave predictably. • Solve problems like data inconsistencies and partial failures. • Own problems end-to-end from unclear requirements to deployed solutions.
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of engineering experience
- Exceptional strength in TypeScript (Node.js)
- Comfort with PHP codebases
- Experience building or maintaining complex systems
- Experience with integrations, APIs, or distributed systems
- Ability to collaborate with external engineering teams
- Understanding of reliability over elegance and debugging as a core skill
- Ability to communicate clearly across teams and not ship fragile solutions
- Experience with messy real-world integrations (fintech, healthcare, logistics, etc.) is a plus
- Direct collaboration experience with client or partner engineering teams is a plus
- Experience debugging systems where you don’t control all components is a plus
- Design experience for systems that recover from failure is a plus
- Ability to think in terms of tradeoffs, not just best practices is a plus.
