About Vantaca Powered by AI, Vantaca's vision is big! We are the leading AI-native community management performance platform that enables owners and operators, community management teams, boards and associations to work smarter, faster, and with unprecedented insight. More than just accounting and management software, Vantaca is intelligent business operating software that leverages artificial intelligence to automate routine work, surface actionable insights, and help our customers increase revenue, efficiency, flexibility, and control. Built on modern cloud architecture with a single-platform design, Vantaca combines comprehensive functionality that adapts to 100% of business processes with AI-powered automation that learns and improves over time. Our proactive AI capabilities don't just report on what happened; they predict what's coming and recommend what to do next. From intelligent document processing and predictive analytics to automated workflows and conversational interfaces, we're transforming how community management companies operate. With seamless integrations across the software and banking ecosystem, we're building the intelligent hub for community management where AI doesn't just assist, it anticipates. Vantaca is focused exclusively on community management and is the trusted technology leader defining the AI-powered future of the community association management industry. We're building something fundamentally different, and our customers are experiencing the competitive advantage that comes from working with truly intelligent software. Vantaca just achieved unicorn status with a $1.25B valuation, so it's safe to say we're past the "scrappy startup phase." We're not just building a successful company, we're building the category-defining platform that will transform how an entire industry operates. As part of that growth, we're building out our second engineering and product hub in Raleigh-Durham and we're looking for the people who'll help shape it from the ground up. What Makes Vantaca Exciting We are rethinking software development from first principles in a post-Scrum world. We are building with AI coding agents daily and expect you to lead your team in adopting these practices effectively. Modularity in our systems allows AI agents to operate effectively. Agentic Development: We run multiple coding agents in parallel, manage work across git worktrees, and coordinate through orchestration systems. Our team uses Claude Code, Cursor, Devin, and at times other agent coding platforms. We are scaling spec-driven development to improve alignment between stakeholders within the software development lifecycle and improve cycle times to delivery as well as quality. AI Engineering: We believe in architecting our codebases and systems—microservices, interfaces, etc.—to be AI-accessible. This means building for testability, observability, and modularity. Where possible, we use AI to build the factory and not just the product: writing commands, agents, AGENT.md files, and structuring our systems for synchronous and asynchronous agent collaboration. The Opportunity As Software Engineering Manager, you'll lead a team of 4-8 engineers building next-generation features for both our core Vantaca platform and HOAi's autonomous AI agents, serving thousands of community associations and millions of homeowners. This is a hands-on leadership role: you own your team's delivery, develop your people, maintain technical standards, and continuously improve how we work. Your responsibilities span technical leadership (architecture decisions, code review, production quality), people leadership (1:1s, career development, mentorship), cross-functional collaboration, and delivery (owning outcomes, iterating on process). You'll drive technical excellence while fostering an environment where diverse engineering talent delivers breakthrough innovations that eliminate entire workflows for community management companies, not just speed them up. Your team's work directly impacts customers who have already achieved results like processing 600 budgets in under 10 hours (previously 1,200 hours) and automating 95% of invoice workflows. This is engineering that transforms industries. What we’re driving toward Our teams are organized around rapid, collaborative product development focused on client success. We measure outcomes, not activities: Throughput & Cycle Time: Shipping value faster through continuous iteration Quality: Reducing defects through testability and automated validation AI Enablement: 100% team adoption of agentic development practices Process Evolution: Forward-thinking adoption of AI to enable increased capabilities across engineering and product We believe desired outcomes and team/customer constraints define our process—not methodology orthodoxy. Technical Leadership - Own technical design, architecture decisions, and end-to-end delivery for your team's domain - Provide substantive code review feedback that improves quality and unblocks teammates - Monitor and reduce production defects - Maintain technical standards while pushing the envelope with emerging technologies People Leadership - Conduct regular 1:1s focused on career development and removing obstacles - Mentor engineers on technical skills, AI adoption, and professional growth - Balance empathy with accountability, set clear expectations and follow through - Build a team that wins together: collective outcomes over individual achievement Delivery & Process - Own your team's delivery and commitments - Ensure the team is aligned and has clarity on what we're trying to accomplish - Unblock work and remove obstacles proactively - Iterate on process continuously as desired outcomes and team/customer constraints define our process AI-Native Development - Use AI coding agents daily in your own technical work - Establish team standards for effective AI use: agentic coding patterns, context engineering, agent orchestration - Enable the team to run multiple agents in parallel and manage complex workflows Qualifications Required - 5+ years software engineering experience with hands-on technical depth - 3+ years leading software engineering teams - Active daily use of AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar) - Track record of delivering software that solves real customer problems - Ability to work cross-functionally and act as a change agent Technical Experience (Preferred) - .NET 8+, C#, Entity Framework, SQL Server - Azure (Functions, Service Bus, Application Insights) - Microservices, event-driven architecture, REST APIs Background (Preferred) - Consumer software experience (user-facing products) - Experimentation techniques and A/B testing experience - Zero-to-one product experience AI-Native Experience (Valued) - Led teams through AI tool adoption - Experience with agentic development patterns and agent orchestration - Understanding of how to structure codebases for AI effectiveness (testability, modularity, automated validation Mindset - Energized by building products that solve real customer problems at scale - Collaborative approach to problem-solving; you elevate the team around you - Growth-oriented—you see challenges as opportunities to learn and improve - Excited about AI/ML innovation and its potential to transform industries Core Values - Always Growing: Likes change and enjoys finding new ways to improve their knowledge and the platform. Always ready to learn quickly about emerging AI technologies and infrastructure patterns, helping themselves and the team grow. - Win as a Team: Builds trust and works together by making sure everyone communicates well.
