Role Description We are looking for a Research Compute Platform Engineer to design and build the next generation of Secure Compute Environments (SAFE) across AWS and GCP. This role focuses on developing new platform capabilities, establishing scalable and secure patterns, and enabling smooth handoff to SysOps for production rollout and ongoing operations. This is a platform design and implementation role: you will define how systems should work, ensure they scale across multiple environments, and package them for reliable operation by others. Overview ViaPath is seeking a Principal-level Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate the core infrastructure and developer platforms that power our products. This role is highly hands-on and technical, with ownership across Kubernetes platforms, CI/CD pipelines, automation, observability, and reliability in a hybrid environment spanning public cloud and on-premises data centers. You will serve as a technical leader, partnering closely with application engineering, security, data, and operations teams to improve scalability, reliability, and developer productivity. This is a remote based position based in West Virginia.
