Clinical Subject Matter Expert (SME) Remote (Travel Required) Full Time Mid Level Emerging Tech is seeking a Clinical SME to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program. This role provides expert clinical and operational guidance during healthcare system deployments, ensuring workflows, documentation practices, and user adoption align with clinical standards and organizational goals. The Clinical SME plays a critical role in supporting smooth transitions during active deployment phases across multiple sites. Responsibilities - Serve as the clinical operations subject matter expert during system deployment - Ensure workflows, patient care processes, and clinical practices align with organizational needs - Provide end-user support and troubleshoot functional system issues - Act as a liaison between clinical staff and technical teams - Identify workflow gaps and recommend process improvements - Support change management efforts and stakeholder engagement across deployment sites - Assist in the assessment, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of clinical information systems, including EHRs and order-entry systems Minimum Qualifications - 4+ years of relevant professional experience - Master’s degree in healthcare or a related scientific, technical, or clinical discipline (or additional 8 years of experience in lieu of degree) - Ability and willingness to travel up to 70% - Experience assessing clinical workflows and supporting healthcare professionals and patients - Experience supporting development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical information systems - Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting the VA or similar federal healthcare environments - Experience implementing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems - Experience with clinical solutions such as PowerChart, Message Center, Care Compass, Patient Portal, PowerForms, Dynamic Documentation, iView, Tasking, Order Management, and mPages Compensation - Salary range: $100,000 – $125,000 What We Offer - Paid time off (PTO) and federal holidays - 401(k), health, dental, and vision insurance - Mission-driven work supporting federal health IT initiatives - Professional development in EHRM workflows, project management, and solution advisory
