About the role and team We're looking for a Lead Analyst, Fraud Intelligence to help us in our fight against fraud. This role will sit in the Fraud Intelligence team, responsible for fraud identification, mitigation and prevention. Working together with Product, Commercial Managers, Engineering and Data Science teams, the Lead Analyst will perform analysis to enable us to spot the latest fraud trends and drive impactful fraud prevention solutions whilst ensuring a seamless journey for our customers. On the technical side, you will be working with a wide variety of technologies, datasets and techniques to drive meaningful insights and material improvements. What you bring to the table We are looking for an experienced, driven and curious fraud analytics professional to hit the ground running in our fight against fraudsters. Here’s what you will bring to the table: - 5+ years in payment fraud analytics ( or data analysis / data science with meaningful experience in the fraud and financial crime prevention space) in financial services or fintech. - High proficiency in SQL and data analysis, able to produce high quality actionable insights, visualisations and analysis from large complex datasets. - Deep understanding of chargeback prevention from the merchant perspective, and the tools and techniques available to help with this (device profiling, behavioural profiling, machine learning), - Exceptional communication skills, able to engage productively with stakeholders at all levels across the organization and able to produce high quality written analysis understandable by wide, sometimes non-technical audiences. - An ability to see the bigger picture: a problem solving approach that gets to the underlying business questions, using a variety of data sources and information. - The ability to translate a problem (sometimes loosely defined) into an actionable plan. - Comfortable with balancing multiple priorities, working to a fast tempo and adapting to the needs of the business. What you will focus on Reporting to the Fraud Intelligence Senior Manager, you will: - Work in a collaborative and cross-functional way to identify, quantify and make data driven business decisions to reduce our exposure to fraud. - Champion the use of data to optimise the way we combat fraud in the business. - Work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders across the entire business to prioritise and translate compliance and business requirements into innovative solutions. - Identify opportunities for improvement through data analysis, AB testing, tracking, and the creation of self-serve tools. - Present results back to the business in a structured, data-driven manner - simplifying complex concepts for non-technical audiences. - Make significant changes to the way that the function and team operate on a regular basis. You will see and feel the impact of your work on the business regularly. Nice to have/ Bonus Points if you have Experience in Financial Crime compliance (transaction monitoring). - Experience in fraud prevention on stored value products (eg current accounts or wallets) and / or credit facilities. - Experience in Python for data analytics, scripting or machine learning. The SIU Senior Investigator conducts complex investigations to effectively pursue the prevention, investigation and prosecution of healthcare fraud and abuse, to recover lost funds, and to comply with state regulations mandating fraud plans and practices.
