The Learning & Development Coordinator is responsible for all shipboard training processes, training record keeping, and the crew welfare program. They foster a culture of continuous learning and teamwork, enhancing crew engagement and job satisfaction. Responsibilities - Lead and manage all learning and e-learning programs on board the vessel, including planning, evaluation, and administration. - Deliver training courses including but not limited to the Viking Guest Service Excellence Program, Viking Onboarding Program, and Viking Leadership Program. - Drive leadership development by providing coaching to the Department Heads, Supervisors, and Crew Members to support their career growth and cultivate talent for succession planning. - Maintain and update training records in MXP, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting. - Support the Crew Purser with the sign-on process during periods of high crew turnover. - Schedule the monthly training calendar, in coordination with other training, HR, and operational needs. - Collaborate with onboard leadership and the HR Manager to assess crew performance and identify areas for improvement. - Support a multi-cultural team, maximizing crew satisfaction, productivity, and retention; visit departments daily for “The Daily Reunion”. - Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs by gathering feedback and monitoring outcomes, ensuring ongoing improvements and deliver this on a quarterly basis and upon request to the Viking L&D department. - Take part in Train-the-Trainer sessions for new learning content and learning meetings organized by the Viking L&D department. Qualifications - A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Onboard Trainer, L&D Coordinator, or similar position. - Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation abilities, with experience delivering training in a multicultural environment, ideally on board a vessel. - Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and guide crew members and the Leadership Team. - Solid administrative skills are preferred, and proficiency in PC-based databases, spreadsheets, and word processing systems (Word, PowerPoint) is required. - Must be flexible, stress-resistant, and a committed team player. - Ability to work independently when delivering training and collaboratively when developing schedules and identifying needs with ship management. - Fluent in English - must be able to address any kind of information in an adequate manner with excellent oral and written English communication skills; the ability to speak an additional language is an advantage. - Guest-focused, service-oriented, positive personality, professional appearance, and impeccable hygiene standards are required, with excellent knowledge of all Public Health Policies. - Team builder with exceptional work ethic, motivational skills, training, and coaching abilities. • Implement, maintain and evolve data ingestion and processing pipelines across RAW, TRUSTED and REFINED layers; • Develop ingestion processes using AWS Lambda; • Manage data in Amazon S3 (Landing and Output), using Parquet and JSON formats and execution metadata; • Make data available for querying and analysis via Amazon Athena; • Ensure data quality, versioning and traceability; • Execute reprocessings and adjustments on existing pipelines; • Develop, maintain and tune optimization models based on Genetic Algorithms; • Tune parameters and fitness functions to improve solution quality, reduce execution time, and ensure stability and convergence of results; • Evaluate outcomes and support continuous improvement of operational performance; • Operate and evolve models already in production; • Integrate processing services using Amazon SQS; • Publish execution outputs, including optimization results, technical logs, and functional and operational metadata; • Support daily operation of pipelines and models in production; • Implement and maintain basic logs and metrics; • Diagnose failures and assist with fixes in the production environment; • Contribute to improvements in robustness, reliability and scalability; • Follow observability and operational standards defined by the team.
