• Lead and manage civil engineering design projects, ensuring effective communication and coordination with clients and internal design teams. • Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. • Review designs for high quality, support engineers through challenging problem solving, and drive standards across the department. • Lead and manage the execution of team and department initiatives to support the continuous improvement of our tools and processes • Apply current, standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to complete engineering tasks, supporting other civil, structural, and electrical design workflows as necessary. • Develop comprehensive plans, specifications, and observation reports that are accurate and in accordance with sound utility-scale solar engineering practices. • Recommend alterations to development criteria and design features to improve quality and project outcomes. • Plan and accomplish project goals by leveraging experience and judgment. • Review and check design computations performed by the internal civil design team to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Prepare detailed reports and correspondence concerning the direction and progress of assigned projects. • Review plans and specifications for constructability, safety, and risk management considerations. • Maintain a value engineering mindset throughout the development, design, and construction phases. • Collaborate closely with business and engineering staff across multiple markets and technical disciplines. • Work closely with clients to understand their technical needs and identify the best feasible solutions. • Support marketing, sales, and business development activities within the assigned market. • Demonstrate a high degree of creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, and design ownership.
Job Requirements
- B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent is required.
- Civil Professional Engineer (PE) registration required, NCEES Council Record is preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10+ years of civil engineering experience is required, with at least 5+ years of experience in design and development of utility scale solar, preferred.
- Proficient at large scale solar grading design and earthwork calculations is required.
- Experience performing detailed design of solar facilities with complex topographic, environmental, and non-participating infrastructure constraints is highly desired.
- Stormwater management and permitting experience is highly desired.
- Experience developing Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plans (SPCC) and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred.
- Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
- Must have permanent authorization to work in US.
