Role Description We’re hiring a Workers’ Compensation Case Manager for an 18-month maternity leave contract . This is a full-time, fully remote opportunity and a chance to step into a well-established portfolio where you can make an immediate impact. In this role, you will represent our client’s interests while ensuring claims are managed efficiently, thoughtfully, and in compliance with Workers’ Compensation legislation and policies. Your work will focus on supporting safe and timely return-to-work outcomes, managing claim costs responsibly, and building strong, trusted client relationships. You will report directly to the Director of Claims Management. What You’ll Be Doing - Manage Workers’ Compensation cases in accordance with legislation, policies, and procedures - Identify cost recovery, containment, and avoidance opportunities - Maintain strong working relationships with clients and Workers’ Compensation Boards - Prepare clear, timely reports for clients, provincial boards, and other stakeholders - Facilitate client meetings, on-site consultations, and ongoing communication - Complete employer reporting forms accurately and on time - Prepare objections and appeals, representing employer interests - Communicate with injured workers, develop return-to-work plans, and attend case meetings - Meet client service, satisfaction, and billing objectives - Support new business and revenue growth opportunities where applicable Qualifications - A college diploma or university degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field such as Business, Social Sciences, or Administration - At least three years of experience in adjudication and case or claims management within a Workers’ Compensation environment - Experience interpreting legislation and applying statutory principles - Professional development related to Workers’ Compensation and related legislation - Experience navigating appeal processes, including representation at the TAT - At least three years of experience in return-to-work planning and facilitation Requirements - Disability management experience - Strong understanding of the financial impact of claims - Fluency in both French and English Work Schedule - Full-time, 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday - Fully remote - 18-month maternity leave contract Benefits Kii Health is an equal opportunity employer. Role Description Exercises independent discretion or judgment in handling all types of catastrophe property claims. Also assists assigned field office when not on catastrophe deployment in handling day to day property claims. Role Description The WC Senior Claims Specialist handles complex and high-profile Workers' Compensation claims following company standards. This role works closely with case managers and attorneys, manages subrogation, and negotiates settlements. The Senior Claims Specialist ensures the best possible outcome for the claim, meeting customer service expectations, and supporting the goals of the Claims Department and CorVel. Essential Functions & Responsibilities - Receives Workers’ Compensation claim, confirms policy coverage and acknowledgement of the claim. - Determines validity and compensability of the claim by investigating and gathering information regarding the claim and files necessary documentation with state agencies. - Establishes reserves and authorizes payments within reserving authority limits. - Develops and manages well documented action plans with the case manager and outcomes manager to reduce overall cost of the claim. - Coordinates early return-to-work efforts with the appropriate parties. - Manages subrogation and litigation of claim as it applies. - Manages potential claim recoveries of all types. - Reports claims to the excess carrier when applicable. - Communicates claim status with the customer and claimant. - Adheres to client and carrier guidelines and participates in claims review as needed. - Develops and maintains professional customer relationships. - Complies with rules and regulations of applicable state. - Additional duties as assigned. • Acquire knowledge of the client’s claims adjudication system(s), member and provider contracts, and client claim payment policies and procedures. • Assist client in identifying, validating, and recovering claim overpayments. • Validate claims to ensure the accuracy of algorithms and that no refund has previously been posted to the client’s system(s) • Review and resolve disputed overpayments from client/provider. • Participate in knowledge sharing to brainstorm & resolve claim issues or seek clarifications. • Identify new overpayment opportunities by reviewing and researching areas such as CMS and Medicaid claims processing policies, adjustments by client’s internal unit/other vendors, client’s claims processing policies/system(s), provider, and member contracts. • Ideate, test, document & submit new overpayment trends/research scenarios. • Research potential new ideas and follow algorithm development process. • Assist Management with concept approval information needed for client approval on specific trends. • Always represent TREND and our clients in a professional manner • Cooperate with team members to meet goals and complete tasks in an efficient and effective manner. • Provide feedback to Management regarding inventory levels, algorithm effectiveness/productivity and new trend /ideas. • Collaborate with TREND Management to identify new opportunities, areas of improvement and innovate potential solutions. • Escalate to the manager any situation outside the employee’s control that could adversely impact the business relationship.
