Mechanical Designer II

• Design mechanical systems, components, or assemblies using engineering principles. • Works closely with project managers, engineers and contractors to create unique high-level concepts and designs for all assigned projects. • Conducts field surveys to identify existing equipment types and system capabilities. • Produces design documents including drawings, system flow diagrams and architecture, wiring diagrams, construction details, and equipment scheduling. • Delivers concepts and designs according to strict project deadlines. • Assists with the development of technical reports or related documents. • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to team members.
Job Requirements
- Associate degree in HVAC Technology, Building Systems Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 2-4 years' experience with building construction, especially mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or automatic temperature controls.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT
- Strong technical skills
- Vision and Creativity
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Planning skills
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

• Lead design, layout and routing of industrial plumbing systems • Develop P&IDs, plans, sections and construction details • Perform design tasks across planning, concept and detailed design • Coordinate directly with clients, contractors and internal disciplines • Apply expert knowledge of plumbing systems and codes to ensure quality and accuracy
• Coordinate with other piping designers and other disciplines working in the models • Work with a team of designers, drafters and engineers to develop 3D piping plans • Coordinate design with other disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, etc.) • Will be working with an engineering design team on high-tech industrial manufacturing facility projects
