Tax Analyst Location: Remote - Eastern or Central Time Zones Preferred Reports to: SVP of Product About K1X We are K1X. Learn more at www.k1x.io The Role As a Tax Analyst at K1X, you’ll be a key member of our product team, bringing tax technical expertise to a fast-moving environment. This role is a mix of tax research, internal support, and hands-on collaboration with product, client success, and engineering. You'll answer real-time questions from both internal and external stakeholders, help shape our tax product content, and support tax compliance initiatives that impact our platform. If you enjoy solving complex problems, researching evolving tax standards, and want to be part of a team redefining the tax tech space—this role is for you. What You’ll Do - Partner closely with product managers and engineers to support tax-related features and workflows - Respond to tax technical questions from internal teams (Product, Client Success) and external partners - Research and interpret tax reporting rules (federal, SALT, and international) for flow-thru and tax-exempt entities - Monitor and analyze changes in tax laws that may impact our technology - Assist in developing tax content and supporting documentation for the product - Work with state taxing authorities or external advisors as needed to resolve compliance questions - Participate in client calls to support tax-related inquiries or special projects - Help draft internal briefs, reference materials, and training docs for non-tax stakeholders - Aid in rollover process for federal, state (SALT), and international jurisdictions — from IRS and state forms through final release in the platform - Contribute to the continuous improvement of tax workflows and user experiences in our platform
Job Requirements
- What You Bring
- 3–5 years of experience in tax compliance and/or tax technology, ideally with exposure to flow-through entities or tax-exempt organizations
- Public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Strong tax research skills and the ability to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical teams
- Familiarity with federal and state tax reporting requirements; international knowledge is a plus
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset with a desire to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment
- Entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to grow with an innovative startup
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA or master’s in taxation a plus
