Role Description We currently have a need for Remote Contract Korean Interpreters who have a sincere desire to use their language skills to help people and are passionate about what they do. - Provides consecutive, first-person interpretation. - Follows interpreter protocols and procedures as required by Propio L.S. clients. - Follows all Propio L.S. policies and procedures related to information confidentiality and interpreter ethics. - Continuously improves vocabulary and specialized subject matter knowledge, as required for various clients, such as medical, legal, social services, etc. Qualifications - 1+ years of interpreting experience. Requirements - Submission of updated Resume in English at time of Application. - Completion of English Language Proficiency with a language rating of “technical proficiency” (3 or higher on the nationally recognized ILR scale). - Successful completion of a Mock oral interpretation session. Interpreters are evaluated against 24 quality standards and must attain a passing score. - Completion of Propio's online Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology Assessment, with a passing score. - A full Background Check and Security Screen. - A signed commitment to confidentiality, adherence to ethics, and HIPAA compliance. • Provide accurate English ↔ Amharic interpretation via telephone. • Facilitate clear communication between USCIS officers and limited English proficient individuals. • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism during interpretation sessions. • Follow interpreter ethics and standards.

• Translate and localize documents, ensuring linguistic accuracy and cultural appropriateness. • Utilize CAT tools (e.g., Trados, MemoQ, Wordfast) for efficient translation and consistency. • Collaborate with project managers and editors to meet client-specific requirements and deadlines. • Proofread and edit translations to maintain high-quality standards. • Maintain glossaries, translation memories, and style guides to ensure consistency across projects.

• Provide accurate ASL interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and meetings (in-person and via VRI) • Interpret effectively in sensitive environments, maintaining confidentiality and neutrality • Adapt communication styles to diverse individuals, including applicants with varying levels of English proficiency • Adhere to Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) code of professional conduct • Maintain compliance with USCIS protocols, security, and ethical standards • Participate in training, quality audits, and ongoing professional development.
