Role Description We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Paediatric Community Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a supportive SEND Therapy team based in West Essex. This role is based at St John’s Road, Stansted Mountfitchet, and offers flexible working arrangements, including consideration for virtual working. You will be working within a community setting, supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The service is committed to delivering high-quality, child-centred care, helping children develop essential communication and language skills to support their daily lives and educational outcomes. This opportunity is ideal for a Band 6 or Band 7 therapist with experience in paediatrics and SEND, who is confident working independently while also contributing to a wider multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities - Assess, diagnose, and provide therapy for children and young people with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), including those with SEND. - Deliver tailored intervention plans in community and/or virtual settings. - Work collaboratively with families, carers, schools, and other professionals to support holistic care. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards. - Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, reviews, and service development initiatives. Role Description The University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, is seeking a 10-50% PRN Iowa KidSight Pediatric Vision Screening Specialist – Orthoptist (PK80; 75) to interpret photo screening images for Iowa KidSight using the iScreen Client Portal, record findings for patient follow-up, and recognize subtle indicators of vision issues. This position requires making informed decisions based on clinical data, staying updated on advancements in pediatric vision screening, and maintaining patient confidentiality while performing independent, high volume, time sensitive work for the Iowa KidSight program. The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences intends to hire at either the Ophthalmic Professional I (COA certified classification), or the Ophthalmic Professional II, certified orthoptist classification, based on the qualifications of the successful candidate(s). Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree and/or combination of education and experience in a field of study such as medical imaging, optometry, or other healthcare related field. - National certification by the American Orthoptic Council as a certified orthoptist and/or by an international orthoptic council. - 6 months – 1 year experience interpreting medical images, preferably in a pediatric setting. - Proficiency in using medical imaging software and tools. - Strong understanding of pediatric eye anatomy and common vision disorders. - Ability to analyze and interpret photo screening images with high precision. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey findings through defined systems and processes. - Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team while performing independent, high volume, time sensitive work. The QA Home Care Reviewer will facilitate the process of improving clinical documentation through extensive clinical documentation reviews and concurrent interactions with clinicians to fully capture a patients condition, complications and co-morbidities. The QA Home Care Reviewer will educate nurses, clinicians, and staff on documentation improvement opportunities, OASIS compliance, reimbursement and relevant quality and performance improvement opportunities. The QA Home Care Reviewer will identify documentation issues related quality of care and will seek resolution through the appropriate channels. Responsible for review of all clinical records regarding the OASIS and other clinical documentation and ensuring compliance with applicable State and Federal laws and regulations, Medicare guidance, and other policies and procedures. Provides ongoing OASIS team learning opportunities through sharing of professional knowledge - 9. Maintains integrity and compliance in all chart reviews, documentation and queries at all times - 10. Assures home care compliance with OASIS requirements and remains current with regulatory and organization requirements to ensure accurate and thorough quality assurance reviews.
