This is a long-term full-time remote contract position (40 hours/week, core hours 9am–5pm US Central Time, no end date). The Quest - Integrate UI in Unity, delivering robust and responsive layouts across multiple resolutions and aspect ratios. - Animate UI elements and 2D characters using Unity’s animation tools. Obsess over timing and anticipation. - Create game-ready VFX with Unity’s particle system. - Optimize asset performance for mobile devices (atlases, compression, batching, texture budgets). - Implement interaction states & motion language for liveops features (pop-ups, rewards, win celebrations, etc.). Ensure clarity and delight while respecting performance budgets. - Champion “feel”, review your work, iterate until transitions are smooth, timings are crisp, and interactions are unmistakably readable and satisfying. - Prepare and integrate delivered assets, upholding naming conventions and folder discipline. - Collaborate across disciplines, working with artists, designers, engineers, producers, and QA. Communicate trade-offs and propose UX refinements early. - Contribute to asset management, troubleshooting layout or animation issues and keeping builds shippable for frequent releases. Skills - Mastery of Unity, strong understanding of Unity’s systems, including UI, particles, animations, and animation controllers. Familiarity with optimization and troubleshooting in Unity. Bonus points for understanding Unity’s shaders and materials. - Production-grade 2D & UI animation in Unity, with demonstrated mastery of timing/spacing and micro-interactions. - Particles for UI & 2D effects, including practical optimization on mobile devices (overdraw, texture budgets, batching, atlases). - Asset integration discipline, including sprite slicing, atlases, import settings, font setup, organized prefab hierarchies. - Live game pipelines, with fast iteration, clear comms, reliable delivery. - English fluency, excellent written and spoken English skills. - Strong communication, able to proactively communicate progress, flag issues, and ask for help. In meetings, even if you’re the only remote participant, you speak up and stay engaged. - Ownership mindset, take responsibility for your work ensuring it’s tested, stable, and delivered on time. - Portfolio/reel demonstrating UI motion, 2D animations, and in-engine polish on mobile apps or games (please include short breakdowns of your role & constraints). Nice to Have - 2D character animation experience, including bone-based workflows and Timeline. - Game development experience, prior history in mobile games or similar apps. - Casino app experience, or contribution to casino-related art. - Liveops experience, exposure to cadenced fast releases. - Exposure to asset bundles. - Jira familiarity.
