Analytics Engineer
Strada Education Foundation
• Design, build, and maintain data models foundational to the company’s internal and client-facing reporting and analytics. • Investigate bug root causes and implement fixes. • Design, build, and support a data warehouse for the company’s business. • Create and support various ELT scripts, jobs, and technologies. • Tune and optimize data storage technologies. • Review pull requests and test team member’s code and features. • Interact with data analysts and power users to define metrics to build data models. • Collaborate with team members to remove blockers and design new features. • Function as data expert to advise users on the usage of structured and unstructured data. • Support APIs, tools, and 3rd party products to extract data from Cloud/SaaS applications.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of applicable work experience
- Knowledge and experience with data warehousing architecture and data modeling best practices
- Ability to build and optimize data sets and architectures Experience with cloud base data warehousing such as Snowflake
- Ability to clean and transform data for use in analytics and reporting
- Exposure to one or more EL tools and a solid understanding of pipelines; understanding of third-party data integration tools such as Fivetran, Stitch
- Ability to build processes that support data transformation, workload management, data structures, dependency and metadata
- Expert knowledge of SQL
- Experience with dbt
- Excellent analytic skills associated with working on structured datasets
- Care deeply about data quality and governance; able to document data and definitions
- Experience with Github and CI/CD practices
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment that is highly collaborative
- Ability to perform root cause analysis on external and internal processes and data to identify opportunities for improvement
- Able to prioritize, work independently in a less structured, remote work setting
- Team player and receptive to giving and receiving feedback, with the ability to effectively collaborate with and communicate complex topics to an audience of diverse backgrounds and skills
