Payroll Manager Matthews, NC 28104 Payroll Specialist FLSA Status – Exempt Summary of Position: The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely processing of payroll for hourly and salaried employees across all project sites and the corporate office. This role ensures compliance with federal and state wage and tax regulations while maintaining the integrity of payroll data and reporting. Duties and Responsibilities: - Review new hire documentation and follow up on any missing or incomplete information - Ensure per diem payments comply with General Services Administration (GSA) guidelines - Verify Hourly PTO payments are processed in accordance with company policy - Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely. - Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate payroll reports - Ensure accurate garnishment calculations and compliance with applicable regulations - Maintain payroll records by collecting, calculating, and entering data - Process updates including exemptions, compensation changes and terminations - Prepares and process payment for Federal and State tax withholding - Ensure compliance with all applicable wage and hour laws and regulations Qualifications: - High school diploma required; associate degree or higher preferred. - 2-4 years of in-house payroll processing experience - Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations - Strong work ethic and team player - Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion - Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees and corporate contacts. - High level of accuracy and attention to detail - Ensure proper enrollment, changes, and terminations within required timelines - Proficiency in Vista and Workday preferred but not required Reports to CFO Work location is at Corporate Office M-TH, remote on Friday
