• Act as the project subject matter expert for the development team • Understand/Track project budget, scope, and timeline and work to maintain a balance • Translate product strategy and vision into detailed requirements • Work with the stakeholders to define the scope included in the project • Get answers for the team to clarify details as they are developing the application • Be aware of client commitments and communicate timelines internally to assist with managing those commitments • Work with the stakeholders to prioritize the backlog • Prioritize support work as needed • Manage dependencies in and across releases • Distribute information to stakeholders while managing expectations and scope of the project(s) • Facilitate work across development teams to ensure that work is completed efficiently and consistently • Lead backlog refinement to decompose/estimate stories • Drive Iteration Priorities via prioritized stories • Demonstrate the latest product to customers and gathers feedback • Follow the Development Life Cycle of the project as defined • Track project Impediments and progress to solving them • Be the subject matter expert for Scrum Master Process • Handle projects varying in size from $100 to $1,000,000 • Run the Theory of Constraints daily on our processes to see how we improve • QA Completed Stories to ensure they meet the Definition of Done • Hold team accountable to processes • Lead Scrum Ceremonies

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience or Proven Learning Track Certification a Plus (A-CSPO, A-CSM, PMI-ACP)
  • Ability to handle projects ranging from $100 to $1,000,000
  • Agile Philosophy expert with an emphasis on the Scrum Process.
  • A deep understanding of agile methodologies and the Scrum framework.
  • Ability to Lead all Scrum Ceremonies
  • Exceptional facilitation skills to guide teams through Scrum events and decision-making processes
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships, resolve conflicts, and create an atmosphere of trust and respect
  • Skilled in risk management with the ability to anticipate and mitigate potential issues before they impact a project
  • Strong organizational skills with applied practice in keeping teams on track to ensure deliverables are completed within the agreed-upon timelines
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and overcome obstacles
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations, identify the root causes of issues, and facilitate the development of effective solutions to keep the team moving forward without losing momentum.

About The Position The Senior Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating Agile execution across multiple infrastructure and engineering teams, ensuring consistent adherence to Scrum principles, sprint discipline, and continuous improvement practices. This role supports mulitple teams under a single Engineering Manager and partners closely with Technical Leads to optimize delivery, predictability, and team health. This is not a traditional command-and-control project management role. In addition to Scrum leadership, this role provides light project management support for initiatives assigned to the teams, ensuring alignment with business priorities, transparency of progress, and proactive risk management. What You'll Do Agile Facilitation & Team Enablement - Serve as Scrum Master for multiple engineering teams, facilitating sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. - Ensure Scrum ceremonies are productive, time-boxed, and outcome-driven. - Promote Agile best practices and continuous improvement across teams. - Identify and remove impediments that hinder team progress. - Coach teams on sprint discipline, estimation practices, and commitment reliability. - Monitor sprint health metrics (velocity, predictability, burndown, cycle time, etc.) and guide teams toward improvement. GDIT provides full software development lifecycle support for a variety of highly complex business critical systems, including COTS and customized solutions.
