Job Summary As a Software Engineer (Backend) Intern at Impiricus, you will support the development of backend systems and AI-powered features that power our digital healthcare platform. You will work alongside experienced engineers to build APIs, work with databases, and experiment with AI integrations that enhance our products. This role is designed for students or recent graduates interested in backend development and applied AI. You will gain hands-on experience with modern backend technologies, cloud infrastructure, and large language model (LLM) integrations while contributing to real product features used in healthcare. Responsibilities - Assist in building and maintaining backend services and APIs that support core product features. - Work with PostgreSQL databases to help model data, write queries, and support reliable data pipelines. - Help integrate AI and LLM-based capabilities into backend workflows, including prompt development and API integrations. - Support the development of services that enable AI-powered features within our healthcare platform. - Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to help deliver end-to-end features. - Write clean, well-documented, and tested code while learning backend engineering best practices. - Participate in code reviews, debugging, and system improvements with guidance from senior engineers. Experience - Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field. - Familiarity with backend programming languages (preferrably Python or Golang). - Basic understanding of API development and RESTful services. - Exposure to relational databases and SQL, including writing queries and working with data models. - Interest in AI/LLMs and prompt engineering, with some coursework or personal projects involving AI tools or APIs. - Foundational understanding of machine learning or AI concepts. - Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows. - Exposure to cloud platforms (preferably AWS) is a plus. Compensation This is a paid internship with an hourly rate of $25, with interns working up to 40 hours per week. The program runs for 8 weeks and will be offered in two cohorts. Candidates may participate in the cohort that best aligns with their summer schedule. Job Requirements

- Interest in AI/LLMs and prompt engineering, with some coursework or personal projects involving AI tools or APIs.
- Foundational understanding of machine learning or AI concepts.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (preferably AWS) is a plus.

- This is a paid internship with an hourly rate of $25, with interns working up to 40 hours per week.
