Wake County Public Schools
Role Description Ensures accurate data entry and record keeping for Alternative Education and Extended Learning Programs by following procedures set forth by Wake County Public School System (WCPSS). Works collaboratively with the Alternative Education Team to monitor, enter, and compile data for: - Students assigned to alternative schools and programs - Students offered the Alternative Counseling and Education Program (ACE) - Students participating in extended learning programs - WCPSS run Before and After Care Programs - Lose Control Lose your License Qualifications - Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point; Google Apps - Excellent organizational, analytical, and proofreading skills with the ability to track potential errors and verify accurate data contained in databases - Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools - Ability to complete complex tasks and minimize errors with attention to detail - Ability to work independently without close supervision - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, staff members of external funding agencies, and the community Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent - None (Certification and License Requirements) Preferred Qualifications - Associates diploma from an accredited college or university - Experience in a secretarial related field Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Manages and monitors data and communication documents related to students assigned to alternative schools and programs - Manages and monitors Alternative Counseling and Education Program (ACE) offers, enrollments, declines, compliance, and non-compliance - Compiles the list of students to report within the parameters of Lose Control Lose your License statute - Supports the Alternative Education Departments memorandums of agreements with extended learning program partners - Supports data requests for the WCPSS run Before and After Care Programs - Compiles data requests for Alternative Education department related to Alternative Learning Centers (ALC) and in-school suspension (ISS) - Performs other related duties, as assigned Work Environment/Physical Requirements This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff, staff members of external funding agencies, and the community. Work is considered light physical work, requiring the exertion of up to ten pounds of force.
