Senior Engineer, Managed Services Data Protection
Presidio
• Lead the onboarding, implementation, and management of enterprise data protection solutions across a diverse client base • Ensure backup, recovery, ransomware protection, and disaster recovery solutions meet customer business and security requirements in a managed services environment • Onboard, deploy, and manage backup, recovery, and data protection solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments • Serve as the subject matter expert and escalation point for data protection technologies and best practices • Lead data recovery efforts for incidents including ransomware, corruption, and system failures • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions aligned to RPO and RTO objectives • Assess customer environments for risk, compliance, and optimization opportunities • Automate monitoring, reporting, and remediation workflows • Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams • Support pre-sales activities including solution and technical scoping • Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures • Assist with incident audits, on-call escalations, and provide technical leadership
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
- 7+ years of experience in data protection, backup, and recovery engineering
- Extensive experience with enterprise backup platforms such as Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity, Commvault, or Zerto in a Managed Services Environment
- Expertise in ransomware protection, immutability, snapshots, replication, and DR orchestration
- Expertise in protecting VMware, Hyper-V, physical, and cloud workloads
- Exceptional troubleshooting and customer communication skills
- Exceptional Customer Onboarding experience
- Relevant certifications (Veeam VMCE, Rubrik, Cohesity, Azure, AWS, CISSP)
- Must be a US Citizen and based within the United States.
