Platform Engineer

• Support and protect critical enterprise cybersecurity platforms and infrastructure • Be part of a high-performing team responsible for building, automating, and maintaining secure platforms • Ensure systems are scalable, resilient, and aligned with federal requirements
Job Requirements
- Expertise with endpoint protection tools (Qualys, Palo Alto XDR, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint)
- Experience with log/data platforms (Splunk, Guardium, VMware, Cribl)
- Hands-on experience with Ansible Playbooks for automation and syslog collection
- Strong knowledge of access management and authentication technologies (F5, PIV, VLDAP)
- Proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Citrix environments
- Experience troubleshooting syslog feeds, log parsing, and forwarding
- Familiarity with Microsoft security tools (O365 G5, MCAS, DLP)
- Knowledge of federal IT security requirements and compliance frameworks
- Experience with hybrid cloud and on-prem enterprise environments
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to plan, test, and scale high-availability deployments
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Security certifications preferred
- Public Trust clearance or higher (or ability to obtain)
- Preferred: IRS or Department of Treasury experience

• Build and operate our Databricks-based Data & AI platform in the Microsoft Azure cloud • Design and implement CI/CD processes (GitLab) as well as Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) • Take responsibility for the platform’s performance, availability, security and cost control in day-to-day operations • Evaluate new technologies and integrate suitable tools, frameworks and services into our platform architecture • Work closely with our data scientists, data analysts, data engineers and BI developers • Implement and operate scalable data pipelines (Python, SQL, Spark, Asset Bundles, etc.) • Actively contribute to architecture decisions, technology reviews and the engineering governance setup of the factory
