Controls Engineer II
Körber
• design and deploy control systems, including programming and commissioning PLC code • develop graphical user interfaces • validate or emulate code functionality before deployment and on-site testing • troubleshoot PLC code and electrical system functionality during on-site commissioning, supporting equipment and system testing to ensure timely project completion • collaborate with Electrical Engineering resources to define electrical device requirements, support control network architecture design, and review complex customer standards, specifications, and documentation to determine system requirements • contribute to cost and resource estimates for complex module development and commissioning activities • execute software quality processes through module, subsystem, and system-level test procedures • develop recommendations that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction
Job Requirements
- bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field
- five (5) years of work experience in the material handling or a related industry, or 3 years of relevant work experience with a Master's degree
- experience with Rockwell Automation PLC programming (including GuardLogix) and Siemens TIA Portal programming (including Starter)
- experience with Ethernet/IP network architecture
- experience interpreting electrical schematics and a solid understanding of HMI programming
- proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with project management, engineering teams, installation crews, and external partners
- demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills with both internal teams and external stakeholders
- understanding and support of project financial tracking and schedule management while maintaining high service standards
- ability to travel up to 40% annually, including short-term assignments with 10/4 rotations as project needs require
