Job Description: Key Responsibilities Surface Preparation & Sandblasting - Set up and operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare metal surfaces for powder coating, painting, or other finishes. - Select the appropriate blasting media (e.g., aluminum oxide, glass beads, steel grit) based on material type and finish requirements. - Maintain a consistent blasting pattern to achieve an even surface profile without warping or over-blasting. Quality Control - Inspect parts before and after blasting to ensure proper surface preparation. - Identify and report any defects, inconsistencies, or damage to the supervisor. - Work closely with the finishing team to ensure smooth transitions between sandblasting and coating processes. Equipment Maintenance & Housekeeping - Perform routine maintenance on sandblasting equipment, including checking hoses, nozzles, and air pressure settings. - Keep the blasting booth and surrounding area clean and free of excess media buildup. - Properly dispose of used blasting materials according to company and environmental regulations. Safety & Compliance - Follow all PPE requirements, including respirators, face shields, gloves, and protective suits. - Operate equipment in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. - Monitor ventilation and dust collection systems to maintain a safe work environment.
