Location: United States (Partially Remote) What You Will Do: - Develop and drive our frontend technology architecture vision and strategy. - Collaborate with engineering, product, and UI/UX on product strategy. - Align, empower, mentor, and support UI engineers to develop well-designed and well-architected solutions via agile software development. - Collaborate with UI/UX designers to develop intuitive and elegant user experiences and interfaces. - Re-architect, refactor, and simplify existing web applications to be scalable, performant, and secure. - Develop and promote architecture best practices and guidelines. - Imbue and uphold a culture of architectural excellence. You’ll Succeed With: - BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline. - 8+ years experience developing SaaS and/or Mobile software. - 5+ years architecting and developing modern web UI applications. - Extensive experience leading frontend technology architecture for global SaaS companies. - Excellent knowledge of modern web frameworks and technologies, such as Vue/React, Angular, TypeScript, REST APIs, WebSockets, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript. - Extensive experience owning, developing, and driving frontend architecture vision and strategy in mid-sized companies with sophisticated UI/UX. - Extensive experience and passion for refactoring and scaling legacy web applications. - Extensive experience collaborating with engineering, product, and UI/UX via agile software development processes to align around and execute frontend architecture vision. - Extensive experience leveraging AWS cloud services and CI/CD pipelines. - Extensive experience with client-side security and tools like JWT, SSO and OAuth. - Excellent understanding of user experience and UI/UX design. - Excellent knowledge of UI internationalization and localization. - Deep understanding of browser variations and client-side performance tuning. - Excellent communication, documentation, presentation, debugging and problem solving skills. Role Description As a Front-End Web Developer, you’ll be working with the latest .Net technologies in the Electrical Industry. You’ll be involved in the building out of new applications for our in-house brands and client websites. You’ll have the latitude to work independently and add value creatively as you research and discover innovative ways to solve technical problems to meet increasingly complex industry and internal system challenges. The Granite City marketing team is based out of our Brockton, MA branch but this position may have remote flexibility. Compensation commensurate with experience. Key Responsibilities - Develop highly intuitive and professional interfaces utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, DHTML, and custom scripting languages. - Contribute to specific front-end web development efforts as specified by group lead. - Collaborate with all digital team members to refine the user experience. - Work closely with engineers (external vendor) to improve and maintain multi-tiered web-based applications. - Comply with process methodologies including source control, unit testing, and coding standards for HTML and CSS. - Perform basic requirements of testing, debugging, and troubleshooting in a dynamic production environment. Qualifications - Experience within an e-commerce or content-driven application environment. - Demonstrated development experience with some or all of the following: Cold Fusion, ASP.Net (code-behinds and controls), ASP Classic, PHP, JavaScript, XSL, FML, and AJAX for “rich internet applications.” - Expertise with CSS/HTML, W3C DOM methods and properties and cross browser development. - Proven cross-browser compatibility and browser degradation issues, as well as optimization techniques (both in file weight and perceived/actual rendering speed). - A desire to work as a front-end lead on projects. - Strong foundation in graphic design or strong design sensibility. - Strong insight into user advocacy and website usability. - Understanding of how to consume web services and use domain objects to build web front end interfaces. - Solid understanding of SEO best practices. - Familiarity with application development with Mobile applications a plus. - Must have good communications skills and be a strong team player. - 3-5 years of related web development experience.
